Relax and enjoy this peaceful setting, or venture out and explore the stunning Yorkshire countryside, with the Calderdale Way close by.

In the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, this stone built, single-storey, detached cottage is located in the grounds of the owner’s 17th-century farmhouse guest house. It lies in a peaceful setting, in-between both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks. Enjoy outstanding views from the property, and with the Calderdale Way and Pennine Way close by, there is ample walking available. To make your stay that bit more special, guests have sole use of a patio with garden furniture, and the welcoming owner can provide wonderful extras by prior arrangement, ranging from a hearty breakfast, homemade bread, marmalades and jams, to an in-house beauty and holistic treatment (these can either be offered in the privacy of the property, or at the owner’s guest house). With a history in bed manufacturing, you can look forward to a comfortable nights sleep.

Ripponden itself is a village close to the market town of Sowerby Bridge, in West Yorkshire. We really enjoyed our stay. Parking is really tricky on a single track road and on a bend. We have a 4x4 and it just about got through the gap in the stone wall. If anyone is parked in the driveway it is extremely difficult to manoeuvre around parked vehicles and negotiate the walls. The cottage is in an excellent and tranquil location but not for the faint hearted due to the narrow width of the road - however, on saying this, it would not deter us from staying there again if we want a relaxing retreat. The Alma Inn just down the lane is excellent and would recommend it to all for its stunning views, friendly hospitality and delicious food.

Delightful studio cottage located in the the garden of the farm house. Comes with lots of little extras (milk, tea, coffee, towels...) that make staying here effortless and thoroughly enjoyable.

We had a lovely stay - very peaceful setting and we needed to chill! We were allowed to take our 3 Dandie Dinmont Terriers who loved it as we were able to let them run free in an enclosed area - ideal! Very clean and lots of little extras were awaiting us - including fresh eggs and home made biscuits - delicious :O) Lovely friendly hosts.

Had a very enjoyable stay, very relaxing. Judith and David were very friendly and accommodating. Very nice treatments from Rowena. Surrounding countryside beautiful and there was a field attached to walk our dog. Garden was beautiful but not secure and a lead was necessary. Cottage very nice and had everything we needed for our stay. Nice walk to the Alma Inn which was dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Superb studio cottage set in peaceful surroundings and great views. Good size living area with kitchen and bathroom off to the side. Good cooker/hob and fridge with ice draw. Hot water only on a few hours per day (immersion tank). We coped but if you wanted to shower more than once per day you might struggle. Co-op and Tesco both short drives away. Local pub The Alma Inn has very good food and drink plus very welcoming, even with dogs!! All in all would come back, loved our Easter stay, just what we needed!!
