These purpose-built holiday cottages (refs 24574, 27255 and 27257) have been constructed or converted from the original farmhouse buildings and an old Welsh longhouse. Welsh craftsmanship at its best - only the finest local tradesmen and materials have been used for the conversion of these buildings. They are situated in an elevated position on the edge of Broadlay near Ferryside on the old pilgrim road to St David’s Cathedral a half mile from the Three Rivers Hotel and Spa. Guests are welcome to use all the facilities at the hotel such as the swimming pool. There is generous amenity space, dog walking paths and a country adventure play area for small, accompanied children. The complex is on the local bus route which connects to Carmarthen via the hotel and Ferryside railway station. In the opposite direction, Kidwelly and Swansea are en route. Ferryside is uncommercialised, peaceful and quiet; the ideal getaway for a perfect weekend (or longer) break. It is also, due to its proximity to Carmarthen, Llanelli and other centres, an ideal corporate meeting place. Kidwelly, with its Norman castle, industrial heritage museum, Pembrey Country Park and Motorsport Centre, within approximately 10 minutes’ travelling time. The National Botanical Gardens, Laugharne (famous for Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse) and many Pembrokeshire attractions are about half an hour’s drive. There are many places to visit including Dylan Thomas’ cottage, where he spent the last years of his life. The Millennium Coastal Cycle Path, part of the national cycle path network, meanders through approximately 20 miles of local coastline, passing through local areas of interest. Places to visit include Kidwelly Castle, the Penclawydd Wildfowl Centre, and the Loughor Estuary with views of the Mumbles Peninsula south of Swansea. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Great size cottage, but could do with maintenance work being undertaken.

the house was lovely. Plenty of room for us, five adults, five children (ages 5 to 16) and a large dog.En-suites to every bedroom (6), plus a shower on the ground floor, and a hosepipe in the garden for the dog. Masses of room outside for all to play or relax. Although the garden was NOT secure for a dog. The house was comfortable, beds were good, all the showers worked, we did have to ask for patio door to be unlocked and for bulbs to be changed in one of the showers, and one of the windows would not close, another seemed to be "bent" in its frame. On the gas hob two out of the five rings would not work, and the main oven packed up altogether. they did let us use the oven in one of the other cottages that was not let out, but that was a pain trying to cater for ten in a very small oven, and having to walk it across the way. But we coped and had fun! There was very limited utensils in the kitchen, no mixing bowls, no dishes for the oven and I had to wash ALL the pans before I could use them. Built in bbq, but no utensils for that either. They did not supply toilet rolls, only a small amount in each of the toilets! For the amount we paid there really should have been a few spare, no welcome pack either. There was nothing for children to do, no games in the house, just a pack of cards and a couple of old books. Luckily we took our own. The hotel was quite a walk down a very steep hill, (OK going down) we took ourselves down every night to use the pool, which was clean, but could do with updating, broken tiles need to be fixed. We didn't eat in their restaurant, but the menu looked OK. Apart from that Hotel their was nothing else in the vicinity, just a small local shop. The beach was lovely for us with lots of driftwood and small shells and rock pools, not for small children, as it is quite "dirty sand" . Would I go back? Yes, because I like the quiet and peace, and I know to take EVERYTHING I might need. No, if I wanted to be near a nice beach. Value for money?, I think it is overpriced. But it was quite a late booking, and there were very few places available for a big party plus dog.

The house was large, well decorated and furnished, suitable for adults or families. It was generally well equipped but a few basic things missing like scissors & plastic bowls. A few extras like books and games would have been good too. Lots of space ....we had 5 children and 7 adults and plenty of room for all of us. Wi fi is very erratic. The hotel manager was very helpful & the gym and games room were handy on not such sunny days but it was half a mile down ..and up a very steep hill! .

This large holiday house is rurally located and was perfect for our family group of explorers. Lovely walks all around the local area and well placed for trips further afield. The house had been cleaned and prepared for our arrival but is in need of a deep clean and some basic maintenance. The rooms were all comfortable, with lots of living space for group games and quiet corners. The conservatory leaks when it rains and the drains at the top of the house smelled terribly after the rain. We were unfitness in advance that the Internet connection is not able to handle groups. This was fine for escapism but those who wanted to be more connected found that they spent much of their time at the local hotel accessing WiFi. We had a wonderful holiday here and it was great to be able to come back after long days out to a communal meal round the large table that easily accommodated the 13 of us.

Great location and cottage was beautiful. Need a little attention to detail with shower doors and toilet seats broken.

Nice cottage, great for a large group, security could have been better, doors that don't lock on balcony, keys open all three cottages, needing general update, pool had far too much chlorine, so much that made swimwear wear quickly and affected a couple of respiratory issues. But that said we all had plenty of laughs and the place was comfortable.

Very nearly perfect. House, location and amenities very good. It was well equipped very spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are modern, beds comfortable and ensuites excellent. Only things letting it down were a need for new dining furniture, the leather chairs were worn but there was plenty of chairs for the number. The conservatory and garden furniture also needed up-dating and loungers and table and chairs on the balcony would have been an added bonus

I'm sure this was lovely when new about 20 years ago. Unfortunately it is now showing signs of neglect. Balcony furniture broken and not usable. Dining chairs need replacing. Two unusable toilets were repaired whilst we were there but previous occupant's had reported as not attended too. Garden/field had uncut grass and most on steep slope. In spite of above we had a great week with the family.
