This holiday property is a converted barn situated in the very scenic area of Hill of Down and on the banks of the Royal Canal, across the road from the front gate of the property. The owners live adjacent and have thoughtfully renovated the property to sleep 3 comfortably. You can walk along the banks of the canal, ideal for fishing, and it is very central to many tourist attractions within Meath and Westmeath such as Slane, Newgrange, St Finians Monastery, Belvedere House and the many beautiful lakes in Westmeath. Dublin is just 35 miles away. The property is situated in a rural location and own transport is recommended. Shop and pub 70 yards.

Approximate distance to Dublin Airport is 49 km.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. Shower room with toilet. Open tread stairs to first floor: Double bedroom with additional single and Velux.

    Had a great stay here,beautiful countryside,very relaxing and exactly what we wanted. The owner was very helpful in suggesting local attractions and places to visit.The royal canal way was wonderfully relaxing for a walk and to top it all a wonderful pub just at the other side of the canal.....All the best wishes to Tara,Frank,and the kids,....and of course Sandy, thanks for making our stay so nice......William & Joan.

    Overall very disappointed...bed was soooooo uncomfortable and squeaky we ended up sleeping on the floor on the mattress, living room furniture wasn't much better. Skylight window had no blind so you are awoken at 5 onwards, bathroom wasn't nice, after a day sight seeing all you want is somewhere comfortable to relax and this was not the place 😔

    Response on behalf of the owner:- I was very disappointed to receive such a negative review. I'm just sorry that this guest didn't knock on my door and tell me how uncomfortable the bed was and we would have been able to make their stay more comfortable by changing the bed. As regards the skylight I shall get a black out blind fitted ASAP. No one has ever complained about the furnishings of the west wing but I welcome the feedback and as I say to all my guests on arrival I'm just next door, so if you need anything just give me a shout.
