This property was difficult to find as there is no name plate on the house. The accommodation was adequate, although lacking in shower facilities as there is only one bathroom and a shower in an en suite. The beds were comfortable but the homely touches were lacking. There were no mirrors or pictures in the bedrooms, no soap or shower gels provided and only one dishwasher tablet. We were a group of women who have been to many houses for weekend breaks and this was one of the most disappointing because of the lack of the little touches that most hosts pay attention to. No welcome pack, no visitor book, no information folder....... with a little effort this could be put right. Fortunately I had read the reviews in advance so knew which extras to pack. The location is very good as it is a short drive to the Bath Park and Ride car park. The village is very pretty and the Fox and Badger pub serves excellent food.

Myself and my family had a lovely holiday staying at the wagon house. The scenery and the village was beautiful. The house was very clean and spacious. I wouldn’t recommend bringing children to the wagon house though. The garden is full of steps and verges. Also the garden is not enclosed like it was stated on the website so we had to keep a close eye on the children in case they ran into the road. We had builders and random strangers walking through the garden most days so we didn’t have very much privacy. Also the photos were not up to date. The garden now has a large brick wall going through the middle of it so there is hardly any grass area. Inside the signal on the tv was awful. The DVD player didn’t work and the CD player had no cable to plug into the wall so we couldn’t use that either. But overall we had a good time and the house is only 10 mins from bath so we had plenty to do.

We spent a weekend at the Wagon house for my hen do. We were a group of 8. Whilst the cottage was clean, with comfy beds , with friendly owners and in a very nice location, we felt it could use an update. The mod cons really need some work as there is no WIFi, and the DVD player did not work which was a let down as we had plans for a movie night with the girls, and the oven did not work very well either. We feel this should not happen for a holiday rental in the year 2018. The information on the website will need an update as well. It mentions a spa treatment hut nextdoor so we had planned on this for the Sunday but they have discontinued it a long time ago and we were not made aware until I asked. The pictures on the page would need to be changed : it lets it down as it much more spacious that what they make it look like. We feel the owner has taken "self catering" to the extreme. as we only came for a week end and did not expect to have to provide dish washer tablets, cleaning products and toilet paper. All in all, great potential but it would be needed to do a few changes before we look at coming back in the future. A few adjustements would benefit the owner as it would make the property more attractive.

We used the property over Easter. We arrived on Good Friday, as the shops were closing, and the property did not contain any cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets, or soap. The owner was unhelpful, in terms of arrival time, in terms of possibility of extension, and in terms of attitude on departure. The fire did not work, the kitchen knives were blunt, and the oven did not work properly. The property was overlooked by the neighbouring property, and was not enclosed at the back, raising security concerns for children. There was no Wifi. The lack of these items raised questions about the pricing.

Good location for Bath and pub. good size Lots of small niggles e.g. No wi fi, basic amenities , no house name to find it - and too many little notes around

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for leaving your Reevoo of The Waggon House. The purpose of notes are for taxi trips and the pub number to book tables in the local pub and another 1 mile away. We find customers have requested this information in previous bookings. Our property displays a clear no smoking note which is part of the booking conditions with the agent. The halogen light at the back of property lights up with movement to display parking area and rear yard and if there is a need to leave it on we ask not to leave this on too long as it can cause disruption to our neighbours. The big windows are needed to be closed during storms or bad weather as water can damage the hinges and discolour blinds and curtains. The hat stand displays a note in the entrance to state no bicycles or dirty muddy boots please use the garage provided. The property often caters for wedding parties and we wish the property to stay clean and high quality for our customers. Note to advise please turn cooker of by the wall when leaving the property or at night. This is to prevent house fires for customer safety.

The Wagon House is in the perfect location. We had a fantastic weekend in Wellow. The accomodation itself is spacious and clean and had every amenity we needed. I would recommend this location unreservedly.
