The Snug was very well equipped, in a good location for exploring the local area. We met the owner who was very welcoming and gave us some great ideas for places to visit. Would definitely recommend to family/friends.

A beautifully curated and thoughtfully appointed holiday cottage, with a stunning garden. Sam was a friendly host who made us feel welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the nearby Suffolk coast at Covehithe and Dunwich. Halesworth was a delight with it’s Art Centre, The Cut. There were plenty of local shops to purchase provisions too. We loved the arty vibe of Southwold, Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh, and Sutton Hoo made a great day trip too. All in all, fantastic.

Location was good for coastal visits and local walking. Unfortunately there was some dirty cutlery and food under a cutting board. Once that happened then we felt we needed to wash everything before we used anything. Definitely recommend using the boost for hot water as had a couple of cold showers. Welcome pack was very basic. We have been on quite a few cottage breaks and in opinion this doesn't rate a four star.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so disappointed to read your review. We were staying in the cottage across the garden and did tell you to pop over if there were any problems. If you had done this we feel confident we could have rectified any issues for you. We have spoken to the cleaner and not only is the cottage cleaned thoroughly on every changeover, we also leave cleaning products throughout in case our guests feel they need to use them. In 3 years of renting the cottage, this is the first time we had a comment about cleanliness and we have taken it very seriously indeed. The welcome pack is to get you started and includes as detailed in the file in the cottage; milk, coffee fresh and instant, teabags and sparkling water. When we are contacted in advance about a booking/collecting the keys, we also ask which wine our guests would prefer and leave a bottle of red or white. We didn’t hear from you and as you will recall, I had to text you the details in the end. We are sorry you felt your stay wasn’t satisfactory and that the way forward was to write across two pages of our beautiful guest book with negative feedback, instead of speaking to us. Had we been given the opportunity, we would have gladly helped in anyway.

A fantastic base to explore the local area. The Snug is surprisingly spacious and is very well equipped. The area is quiet but you are close to Halesworth which has a great highstreet with butchers, bakers and a greengrocer amongst other useful shops. A couple of great cafes completes the perfect country town. Lots to do in the local area, Framlingham castle, Southwold, Snape Maltings, Minsmere and so much more within easy driving distance make this a ideal base.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and for supporting all of the local businesses in the area. They do provide great food, which helps of course. The Farmers Market is a great highlight of culinary delights on the second Saturday of every month. The Christmas Markets in the area are also wonderful - fingers crossed you will be able to try them on a return visit.
