We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at The Shippon. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. The accommodation fully fitted our needs. The host,Mel, was lovely and made us feel very welcome. We fully intend to stay there again.

Greeted with a warm welcome but the cottage is very tired and dated could do with decorating and a good clean. No hand towels on arrival light bulbs blown. Patio area very grubby.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Naturally we are sorry that you were a little disappointed with some elements of your stay at The Shippon. Upon arrival, I asked if all was well and you appeared pleased. I forgot to place the hand towels out but that was soon rectified once I was made aware. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned prior to each guests stay and we have inspections to ensure the property doesn’t look worn or tired. The furniture and all bed linen are in keeping with the contemporary style inside yet old cottage outside. Every bulb is checked whilst cleaning and replacement bulbs are in the drawers in the kitchen. I would have happily replaced had I have known at the time. The patio area had been treated with weed killer that morning as we thought the property was empty through till Friday. I was made aware of your last minute booking that same morning so apologise if some weeds were still active in between a few of the patio tiles. It’s such a shame that your first holiday cottage was cancelled due to flooding however we did our best to accommodate you and we are pleased that you were able to continue with the meetings you had arranged in North Wales. As can be seen from other reviews, many people have really enjoyed their stays with us and we are genuinely disappointed to receive such a low score which is not consistent with our usual feedback.
