Located in a stunning part of Mid Wales its fishing with a view. Or there’s Powis Castle, a medieval fortress built in the 13th century by the Welsh ruler of Powys, Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn, sits high on a rock above its world-famous garden in Welshpool. Lots to see and do here during the summer too, from outdoor cinemas to volleyball with lots of family activities to try. Welshpool is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful sights of Mid Wales. Discover countryside canal walks, modern art, historic castles and heritage railways all just over 15 miles down the road, famous for its annual festival of literature and arts and well worth a visit at any time of the year.
