Relax and unwind in this spacious, Grade II listed old vicarage, located in a delightful village overlooking the village church. This granite built, semi-detached holiday property has many original features including exposed stone walls and fireplaces. The Old Vicarage is a gorgeous property tucked away in a peaceful spot in the small village of Germoe, just a short drive from Praa Sands with its long golden sandy beach. Perfect for exploring the beautiful local beaches, harbours, coastline and countryside, the area is peaceful yet just minutes from main road networks for visiting the rugged north coast, tranquil sailing waters on the south coast, and magic and mystery in west Cornwall.

The historic town of Marazion is overlooked by St Michael’s Mount, which sits proud on a small rocky island. St Michael’s Mount is open daily to the public and can be reached on foot by causeway at low tide, or by small boat at high tide. Penzance is famous for pirates and its long promenade with open air lido. Visit the quaint fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole, the beautiful white sandy beach at Sennen, popular with surfers, Lands End, the rugged north coast with its scenic coastal paths, and St Ives. Nearby Praa Sands offers a long sandy beach, pub, restaurant, shop and golf course. The ancient town of Helston is famous for its Flora Day in May. Porthleven’s ancient and busy harbour is a popular location to dine, with culinary delights served in pubs, bistros and cafés.

Plan a day trip to the beautiful Lizard Peninsula, the UK’s most southerly point, with scenic coves, hidden harbours and colourful villages. Perhaps take a day trip to the stunning Isles of Scilly from Penzance by boat, or by small plane form Lands End airport. The area is fantastic for walking, bird watching, wildlife, subtropical gardens, surfing, water sports, bike riding, horse riding and golf. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    We stayed in this cottage for one week. Although the location was fantastic were we very disappointed in the general state of the cottage and found the following. Dog hairs found on towels and pans in the kitchen Overall cleanliness of the kitchen on arrival could be better Dirty sheets on the beds, and needed washed before sleeping in Bathroom looked dirty as it appeared old and needs updating Dead spiders found in several bedroom draws which obviously hadn't been cleaned Dirty mantel in bedroom Cobwebs in the secondary glazing in most rooms one of the double beds was uncomfortable and new mattress needed Comments book in cottage was overall complementary but there were a few comments that suggested we weren't the first customers to be unhappy.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; It must first be stated, owing to the poor condition in which these individual guests left our property, including multiple undisclosed damages, their security deposit was retained. When we met the guests during their stay, none of these issues were brought to our attention. With regard to comments made, as a result, we would like to respond as follows: The linen at the Vicarage is professionally laundered and replaced where necessary. We use professional cleaners who we have personally chosen and trust. We also inspect the property in person prior to guest’s arrival. The week preceding the arrival of these particular guests, I personally removed the secondary glazing for routine cleaning. Prior to the summer season, The Old Vicarage was thoroughly deep cleaned and decorated where required. The mattresses have recently been replaced for 2018 and are inspected regularly. We are proud of the positive feedback and many lovely comments we have received about the Old Vicarage in our guest book and always take action if any issue is brought to our attention. If we were absent Owners of a managed holiday property, I would be of course deeply concerned by these comments. We are however directly involved in the managing, cleaning and inspecting of our holiday properties and are confident in the standards achieved. The Old Vicarage is a seventeenth century, listed, rural cottage, perhaps these guests would be more suited to a modern apartment or caravan.
