Dorchester, the county town also known as Thomas Hardy’s ‘Casterbridge’ is 30 minutes’ drive and has a lively weekly market and beautiful Maiden Castle. To the west is the market town of Bridport which was Thomas Hardy’s ‘Port Bredy’ and has the twice weekly market as featured in the popular TV programme River Cottage. A lovely spacious house that could accommodate 4 generations of our family, so a very special holiday for us.

Superb cottage in a very special part of the country! The pictures online do not do it justice, it is a big cottage, plenty of space, real character and a down to earth, very hospitable owner. We shall definitely recommend to others

A great welcome, and a lovely cottage. we stayed as a group of 6 people, 2 dogs. we had plenty of room to eat at the table and sit and relax in front of the open fire in the lounge. The local pub is just a 3 mins walk away, who served a great range of local beers & cider, we also had Sunday lunch which again didn't disappoint. The cottage is about 30/40min walk away from the beach or 5 mins in the car. Great weekend …...we shall return!

This was my second visit. It's a perfect cottage for both a family gathering and a weekend away with friends. I look forward to visiting again!

Very comfortable, spacious, well equipped but please lose the carpet in the bathroom! Friendly owner and well situated for Dorset beaches and attractions. Blackout blinds/curtains would have helped get the kids to bed.

This Cottage was one of my all time favourites, the Cottage is much bigger than it looks in the photos, all the bedrooms were big and had their own en suite or bathroom facilities and also had a great enclosed garden, so no need to worry about kids or dogs getting out. The owners were so lovely and even emptied our bins outside (a large family makes a lot of rubbish) every day for us! The local pub is a 2 minute walk and the food/drinks and staff were all amazing. Will be going back here again as me and my family absolutely loved our time there
