Beautiful cottage in a quiet edge of village location - ideal for walking, touring or just relaxing. It has been done to a very high standard and there are lots of little extras to make your stay extra special. The only reason I would give it a 9 for comfort is that the bed is a double rather than a king, and rather squeaky when you roll over in the night!!!

Really enjoyed our weekend at the old telephone exchange. It is very well equipped with high end fixtures and fittings everything has been though about. isolated location made for a very relaxing stay we loved every minute. Our only issue was the walk to the village is down a country lane with no lighting or footpath which made is a little dangerous with the speed of some cars. This is wouldn't stop us staying again......we would just take an extra torch next time and there will be a next time 😊

Great location for exploring Yorkshire. The local village is nice and the cottage itself is excellently presented, a great wood burning stove and sky tv package was a winner. Surrounded by fields it’s an excellent rural retreat .

We had a fantastic time during our week at the Old Telephone Exchange. The place is totally isolated pitched between 2 fields with lovely views of both. Inside you had all that was needed comfort and amenity wise. Lovely bed, super bathroom and shower with nice small kitchen tagged onto the living space. Plenty of room for 2. Good parking space although be careful when venturing out as your view is obscured. Around and about are 2 pubs and the town of Ripon less than 5 miles away. There is a local Morrisons and garage 3 miles away. We went out everyday for walks or visits and throughly enjoyed the week. Fountains Abby is a must, the city of York also. Great stay, great location, great place. Would love to return someday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Telephone Exchange. The neighbors (horses, cows and sheep) were very friendly and such a delight to waken up to. The only downside was the shower was not working and was due to be fixed the day we arrived. Unfortunately the wrong parts were delivered, otherwise it would not have been an issue.

Lovely cottage. Great location. Pots pans dirty but that's the last visitors being lazy not the owner. Lots cobwebs outside prob due to where it is but cud do with cleaning up. It was very nice for a couple as quite small but cosy and absolutely everything u need inside. Towels. Bottle wine. And goodies which was a nice touch. We would stay again. X

Enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Cottage is well equipped and a lovely welcome pack to greet you. Loved the bathroom with jacuzzi bath! Whilst the rural setting is great and away from it all, it is worth noting that there isn’t a shop in the village so may be worth taking what you need with you. Good pub within walking distance though which served lovely food-The Mason’s Arms. Well placed for Ripon and Harrogate. Overall a lovely break and I would certainly recommend!
