Description

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cornish village of Mousehole, close to the beach and perfect for family seaside break.

The Old Studio is a delightful character property with a private parking space. This well-presented holiday conversion adjoins the owner’s home and provides an idyllic for couples to relax in at any time of year, or alternatively, for families looking for the perfect summer retreat. It is also conveniently located for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.
This large, sympathetically converted artist’s workspace has high ceilings and windows offering guests accommodation of immense character and style. This is a stunning property that has been restored to provide a lovely sense of light, space and tranquillity. It nestles in the very heart of the village, and is only minutes from the beautiful harbour and small sandy beach. The garden gate leads into the pretty and enclosed private patio, then through French doors into the conservatory and on into the split-level accommodation which is accessed down three steps into a large, open-plan living space.
Catch a daily boat trip to see the local sea life, or take a fishing trip. Mousehole is the perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday, with its pretty, winding streets full of busy little galleries, restaurants and shops and is just a short drive away from the delightful fishing harbour of Newlyn. Alternatively, why not visit the popular town of Penzance with its long promenade and open-air lido, or the historic town of Marazion with St Michaels Mount rising from the sea, as well as the long, glorious beach of Mounts Bay. Lands End, St Ives, The Minack Theatre and the famous surfing beach at Sennen Cove are all close by. Take a day trip over to the beautiful Isles of Scilly by boat from Penzance, or the sky bus from the nearby Land’s End airport. The beach is less than 200 yards. Shop, pub and good restaurants less than 300 yards.

Beautiful space, light and airy, but lovely warm heated floor. Crisp sheets and comfortable pillows. Little courtyard was a sun trap when the sun came out, even in March!

We had a great stay in the Old Studio. The Open plan living space is unusual for a cottage in Cornwall I think, but worked well for our family of 5. It was light and bright but also nice and warm for a cold February. The kitchen has everything you need and there was a tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, etc, to welcome us. The beds were comfortable with thick duvets. A great location 5 minutes from the harbour and the parking space is very handy too. Mousehole has some nice cafes and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay. It is conveniently located for walking to the beach and it felt like home. We booked a repeat visit for 2018.

We stayed in the Old Studio for a week in early September. The location was perfect, a few minutes' walk and you're by the harbour. The parking space is also really handy as parking is limited in Mousehole, although if you bring an estate car it's unlikely to fit in the space! The accommodation itself was comfortable, warm and light. However, it was not made clear beforehand that it is in fact a renovated part of an old chapel and so we were able to hear noises from the upper floor, which is part of the adjoined building, throughout our stay, for example, conversation, TV and heavy footsteps etc. Some of the fixtures and fittings also needed updating, such as the TVs. This would not be such an issue in the summer months as one would be outdoors more often but for those visiting in winter months it may be a problem. Overall a nice stay, the location was the highlight.

Not as good as last year. Everything looked a bit "tired " Had trouble with shower in the small bathroom as it was either too hot or too cold. The separate bedroom felt damp so did our clothes. Mildew on the wall next to bed. What a shame as we loved it last year ! But probably will try somewhere else next year. .

We had a lovely family holiday in Mousehole. The property lay out meant we all had enough space. There was a very welcome outside court yard to relax in. The parking place was really handy too.

We are a family if 4, and had a lovely stay in the Old Studio. It's in a perfect location for many local attractions, and a walk away from a small safe beach.
