A delightful period Grade II thatched school house in the heart of the village, providing flexible accommodation perfect for extended multi-generation families or friends.

This unique, thatched, former school house (circa 1812) with many original features and landscaped gardens lies in the heart of this pretty Cornish village. Grade II listed and converted to a beautiful holiday home, it stands detached, and there is the original stone fireplace and a 50" TV in the living room, and a 42" TV in the master bedroom. The well-equipped kitchen/dining room benefits from an inglenook fireplace and a picture window. Boasting panoramic views over Veryan, famous for its historic roundhouses, it is excellently located to explore the picturesque Roseland Peninsula, less than a mile from Pendower and Carne beach, one of the finest sandy Cornish beaches (8th best British beach according to the Sunday Times of 5th July 2015), and provides a wonderful setting for dog walking. Portloe has a harbour where crabs, lobster and fish can be bought for a beach barbecue. Shop 100 yards, pub 50 yards.

Superb location Main bathroom is excellent but the ensuite is too small Kitchen very well equiped Lounge was comfortable - the giant TV seemed a bit incongruous and the reception was poor with frequent pixelation - also the video player only generated black / white pictures on the screen - no instructions on operation of the 2 DVD palyers Enjoyable holiday

the cottage was stunning, would have been nice to read the history of it. Nice and cosy, shower in main bathroom was great. My only gripe really would be the beds and bedding. Having paid in excess of 600 pounds personally I think that there shouldn't be any stains on them. Having stayed in self catering accommodation due to pets for over 15yrs the first thing I do is strip back the beds to check them and these were stained, mattress, pillows and bedding. That being said everything else was fine. Really enjoyed it. Local pub is so popular we couldn't eat as we hadn't booked, Carne beach is fabulous Eric the dog loved it, I was surprised to see my first snake there sunbathing on the rocks above the sand... would definitely return..
