Description

A peaceful location from which to enjoy a walking holiday, with plenty of quiet lanes and footpaths to explore.

The Old Dairy is a single-storey barn conversion reached down a private driveway of a smallholding with sheep, chickens and horses. The farm is on a quiet lane and provides easy access to excellent walking and cycling on the Weavers Way and beyond, yet is less than 10 minutes’ drive from the pretty market town of Aylsham. The property is deceptively spacious and provides comfortable accommodation with full double glazing. It also benefits from a fully enclosed garden and is ideal for families with babies, toddlers and pets. The North Norfolk Coast with its sandy beaches, RSPB reserves and National Trust houses is less than 10 miles away, and Aylsham offers independent shops, pubs, cafés, market days and the quaint steam train to Wroxham on the Broads, where boats are aplenty; there is also a busy auction house. The beautiful city of Norwich and The Broads are 30 minutes away. Shop 2 miles, pub 1½ miles.

Living room with wood-burning stove and access to garden. Kitchen/dining room with tiled floor. Large family bedroom with kingsize bed and additional single bed (for +1). Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Wood-burning stove - fuel included. Electricity, full oil central heating, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview. TV. DVD. CD. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed lawned garden with terrace and garden furniture. Barbecue available on request. Parking (for 2 cars). Cycle store available on request. No smoking.

We very much enjoyed a peaceful, relaxing break at The Old Dairy. It is an outstanding property, the location is perfect, lovely scenery a good position to discover this beautiful part of Norfolk. The decor at The Old Dairy is very tasteful, we found it very clean, cosy and comfortable, it had everything we needed and meet all our family needs. Our 2 dogs settled in straight away and very much enjoyed the large enclosed garden, dog towels were provided which was a very nice touch - thank you. A generous welcome pack greeted us, delicious homemade jam, crusty bread and free range eggs again a lovely touch very kind thank you. The Old Dairy is a great location to visit and discover nearby coastal and rural areas. We visited Cromer, Mundsley Beach, Sea Palling , Horsey (the seals on the beach there are a must to visit an amazing sight and well worth the walk to the beach), Potter Heigham and the Norfolk Broads. Weavers Way is right on your doorstep and we managed the 25 minute walk (well !! maybe abit longer!). Walk directions are found at the property and are very user friendly, a nice way to spend an afternoon walking the dogs - my 85 year old Mum enjoyed it so much. We so much enjoyed our long weekend break at The Old Dairy, the photo's truly do not do this property justice. We would have loved to stay longer. We would highly recommend The Old Dairy its a real gem - we are looking to book again for next year for a week this time. Thank you Trevor and Alison we had a wonderful time.

Lovely cottage with everything you need. There is a fab guide to everything local - places to visit etc. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The road to the cottage is riddled with huge pot holds so be weary when driving as it's a dirt track off the main road. Overall we had a great time & would certainly stay again .

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and found The Old Dairy had everything you needed and that you would like to return. The potholes in the lane to the accommodation have been reported to the local Highways Authority and we have been told that they will be attended to this season. However, like most of the country who have been afflicted by potholes this winter, they have to prioritise the main roads and as we are a country lane we will be lower down the list. The potholes are avoidable but caution is needed as you have pointed out.

Fantastic place, bigger than it looks in the pictures. Wonderful surroundings and near to some great places to visit. Owners very friendly and helpful. Everything you could possibly need is provided with some nice little extras. Enclosed garden was brilliant with our dog. Will be recommending this holiday gem to our friends.
