Description

This delightful apartment, on the slopes of Rydal Fell, has beautiful views of Grasmere and the fells beyond from its large, secluded grounds.

The Old Coach House is a traditionally furnished apartment, which has been refurbished to very good standard. Superbly located on the slopes of Rydal Fell, it has its own allocated parking, and from its large, secluded grounds, there are dramatic views of Grasmere lake and Loughrigg Fell. The living/dining room looks out over the gardens from the panoramic window, whilst the kitchen/dining room enjoys views across the garden to the lake and fells beyond. The bedroom overlooks the garden below and has a kingsize bed with 100% cotton bed linen, an antique wardrobe, as well as a useful wash basin. Within walking distance of the centre of Grasmere village, this comfortable and homely holiday apartment retains all of its traditional charm while also offering modern amenities and facilities – such as broadband and Wi-Fi – for a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable holiday in the heart of the Lake District. It is an excellent base for walking, with access to the fells, Alcock Tarn and the famous ‘Coffin Route’ directly from the garden. Ambleside, 3 miles, and Keswick, 12 miles, offer a full range of attractions and there are many historic houses and gardens locally. Grasmere, famous for Wordsworth and Dove Cottage, has a good selection of restaurants and a wide variety of shops. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

A lovely location with plenty of walking direct from the cottage. Some small local shops but for major shopping you need one of the larger towns

Would certainly recommend it to friends. Very clean, and all you would need for a winter break, very warm and cosy, and the owners had thought of every thing including extra heaters. Will try to visit in the summer when I am sure the scenery will be even better.
