Sinking into plump sofas, strewn with cushions, and watching the fire crackle, you can’t help but unwind. There are many places to visit close by, including Seaton Tramway which operates narrow gauge heritage trams between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton in East Devon’s glorious Axe Valley. The trams travelling alongside the River Axe estuary pass through two nature reserves, and give an unrivalled view of the abundant wading bird life. The property is situated between Colyton and the pretty village of Northleigh with its 13th-century church. The historic town of Colyton is 2 miles away, with picturesque, narrow streets and has a town square with a range of local shops, pubs and restaurants. A superb holiday cottage that has all the luxury facilities of a 6 star hotel. Fabulously clean, an exceptional welcome pack and the Little extra touches, like the dog towels, throws, books, logs etc was truly lovely. We received an exceptional warm and comforting welcome from the Aga, making it feel very homely, albeit on a luxury level. The gardens are absolutely stunning. We would recommend The Old Coach House to anyone thinking of booking. We will definitely be back.

The coach house was easy to find by Satnav and the key box was simple to use. The house was in an immaculate condition, with simply everything a family might need. The quality of furnishings was excellent, as were all the crockery, cutlery and glassware. A bouquet of flowers awaited my wife on arrival, as it was her 80th birthday! Our teenagers found the games room well equipped, and there were TVs in several rooms. It was nice to have a hamper with the food/drink that one might need on arrival. we had requested that the Christmas decorations be left up and this added to the cosy atmosphere in the property.

Simply perfect... one of the very best cottages we have ever booked. On arrival we found a very thoughtful welcome pack, fresh cut flowers in a spotlessly clean country kitchen - the house had been meticulously prepared for our arrival. To be honest I couldn't fault it, the photos don't do the property justice... we knew the property was of a high spec when we booked but our expectations had been exceeded. We had the perfect weather and made full use of the amazing garden from sunny breakfasts right to the end of the day toasting marshmallows around the garden fire. Location is great too - about 20mins to Charmouth beach and Lyme Regis. I would recommend this cottage for all groups and ages, winter or summer. 10/10
