This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This holiday property is centrally located for visiting Blenheim Palace, Kelmscott Manor, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Oxford.

The Old Chapel is an idyllic country escape for holidaymakers seeking a change of pace and some time to kick back, relax and enjoy quality time together either outside, in the beautiful surroundings of the English countryside, or snuggled up indoors in front of a log fire.

It might be full of history (with its Victorian Chapel heritage, views of the Bronze Age ’White Horse of Uffington’ and with the birthplace of one of England’s foremost poets, Sir John Betjeman, just down the road) but inside, the cottage combines the best of old and new. The original beamed ceilings and exposed brick walls are complemented by huge picture windows in the bedrooms and living areas, which frame the unspoilt views over the beautiful South Downs countryside.

This charming and characterful cottage is set in prime South Downs walking country, within sight of the famous White Horse of Uffington and is just a few minutes’ drive from the bustling market town of Faringdon. There’s a ’Good Food’ award-winning pub within about half a mile’s walk and the National Trust Ridgeway for a longer hike.

The area is bursting with beautiful scenery and amazing sights, as well as a great collection of things to do and explore. The attractive villages and footpaths of the Cotswolds are waiting to be explored together with Blenheim Palace, Kelmscott Manor and the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Being close to Oxford, you will have no trouble finding exciting ways to spend your days: explore some of Oxford’s 38 colleges, the botanic garden, laze by the river or visit Oxford Castle.
