A fabulous cottage in a very peaceful location, spotlessly clean. The owner Jane made an effort to pop by and meet us which was lovely.

Although our stay was unexpectedly abreviated, the charm of the place was not lost on us. As we had been advised by attentive owner Jane that we might, we did indeed see hares in the adjacent wheat field, a treat at indeed for Londoners. Abundant aural evidence of bird life in full Spring mode. Would happily recommend the place to others who enjoy rural peace.

Lovely clean simple cottage with marvelous views . Great place for a quiet escape. If only the sofas were comfy.

Jane, the owner was very friendly and helpful and cottage is well equipped, light and airy and comfortable. Excellent bathroom and kitchen with lots of equipment. Very dog friendly though dogs opposite get excited which may be a nuisance for neighbours. Good for bird watching and walks to the river. Very quiet. Only downsides (which are obvious in details) lack of wifi and dishwasher. The narrow lane to road may not be to everyone's taste but tractor drivers were very friendly and helpful when reversing needed!

My family and I had a lovely stay at The Old Calf House which was made even more special by an attentive owner and lovely locals. The owner took the time to chat with me about local attractions, walks, local shops etc. which meant I didn't have to spend precious time on the internet. The views from the cottage are beautiful, and the cottage is more spacious and open then I expected from the pictures. We spent the week and enjoyed everyday, we'll book again soon.
