Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful part of Somerset, central to lots of places to visit. The cottage had everything you could want. Vendor left a wonderful welcoming pack too!

The chimney had obviously not been swept so we could not use the woodburner. The cottage was so cold we left after 1 night. Furniture uncomfortable and unwelcoming, no parking as specified and patio is a bin store. Previous reviews also mention these issues but owner has done nothing to address them.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your recent review after staying with us. I'm disappointed and saddened that you awarded The Old Bakery such a low score. The wood burner that you refer to has been serviced in the last month, and if the directions for lighting it, as stated in the welcome pack, had been followed, then it would have been straight forward. May I point out that the vents should never be left open as they appeared to be when I arrived at the cottage after your stay. Previous guests, as can be seen from other reviews, have found the cottage to be well appointed. Off street parking is certainly adequate for one car and, as can be seen from the photograph on this site, the walled patio is secluded and during the summer is quite a sun trap. Sadly not so in January. The thing that saddens me most of all is that at no time did you contact me during your stay to address any of your perceived issues. We are always striving to deliver the very best at The Old Bakery and will continue to do so.

We were given a large welcome pack, which was very helpful as we arrived on a Friday evening and there are no shops nearby. Caren had also bought us cinema tickets for the film at the Village Hall which was a lovely gesture and started our break off very well - the locals were friendly too. Accommodate is very small but well equipped with quality goods. However, the tub chairs are very uncomfortable (please replace these as it lets the place down) and the parking is only suitable for 1 small car (not safe to park in the road).

Lovely cottage, nice owner, parking did not enjoy, very tight space to reverse into, if the trellis was removed it would be easier.

Wow what an amazing find. Comfortable and relaxing. Great welcome pack. Stunning views, great walks and a friendly welcoming pub only 300 yards away. The pub has good beer and food.
