Overall , my stay here was brilliant. Initially on arrival , I had problems locating the cottage ( it was dark when I arrived), and the atmosphere within the cottage was extremely heavy. I think that the cottage had been locked up for a few weeks , so no need air circulating . I only found one window that opened in the kitchen. There was no other windows to ooen. The cottage itself was very clean, charming and spacious. We were provided with clean towels and there were other amenities such as hand wash , kitchen cleaner, tin foil available. Within a 5 minute walk to the local pub. The food was adequately nice. Also a small shop within the same distance. The cottage is located practically a stones throw away from the daffadil walking paths and the poets walking path. I had my french bulldog staying with me and he loved it. The hot water went down, but the owners got it fixed quickly. The under floor heating was also lovely and the log burning fire... I would stay here again.

Our stay was very comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed. The space and most of the facilities was perfect for us, just missed having a private garden. The village has a tiny local shop and pub but that is all, so be prepared to drive to get to a decent shop in Newent which is about 7-10mins up the road.

A great base for many day trips. Nice pub, Church and walks in the village. The house is cosy and has all the basics. Tricky access onto the road for larger vehicles

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The driveway opening is 2.65 meters wide and accommodates all family sized vehicles. Large SUV’s and Passenger vans cannot turn under carport due to height restriction however reversing into a parking space is recommended.

Beautiful cottage. We enjoyed the stay. However it has following problems: 1. It is a bit difficult to park big cars because the gate is too narrow. 2. Too much chicken pops on the drive way that kids got them stick on the shoes then it goes everywhere 3. Cups are all chipped. Didn’t realise this until i saw blood dripping from our 1 year old son’s mouth onto his white bib. He got cuts on both his lower lip and tongue by drinking water from the chipped edge cup. 4. The bedroom on the roof was too low that we bumped our heads everyday. Definitely not suitable for tall and clumsy people like us

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Very sorry about your incident with the mugs, they have been replaced. We do however provide plastic beakers and plates for toddlers and young children.
