Location was good we were close to so many attractions and lovely villages. The cottage isn't suitable for any more than two unless you all go to bed at the same time ! It's all open plan and we didn't realise you couldn't shut off other people sleeping so very awkward to say the least. Very clean and all that you need but outside could do with an over all.

The oaks was set in a lovely setting. We really had the most lovely weather and enjoyed our stay. We would have liked that an outside parasol was provided within the barn for use. Would certainly recommend.

We would have preferred curtains rather than blinds which weren't very good from a privacy point of view, but apart from that a very nice cottage.

The Oaks is located on a working farm just outside of Stow on the Wold. The conversion is well appointed with plenty of space in an open plan kitchen, diner, living room. The kitchen was well equipped but some items were quite tired and maybe in need of refreshing. The sofa, TV etc were comfortable and in decent condition. The beds were comfy (if a little hard) with some nice fluffy pillows. A pint of milk and biscuits were left for us on arrival which was a nice touch. There were a few niggles for us. As its a working farm, activity starts on day break - we stayed in February - so at 7am each day farm vehicles and animals were moving about. In addition I think there was some building work going on on site which was quite noisy - again this tended to start at 7am. As you can see in the photos one side of the building is floor to ceiling windows. What the photos don't show is that the view is out onto the farm and building work rather than the countryside which was out the back of the cottage. And the windows had fairly thin blinds which meant that when it was light outside it was light inside. This was fine in February but I guess it wouldn't be great in the middle of summer.

Barn central by car to many beautiful little villages/pubs/restaurants etc Gorgeous barn in a stunning setting Owners very helpful and friendly Think a wellie stand outside front door would help contain mud after those lovely walks other than that would recommend The Oaks Barn for wonderful R @ R!

Love the barn & the open plan design. The location is perfect for Stow, Broadway, Bourton on the Water & Burford etc. If there is a downside there are no walks of any note from the Barn. We have been twice before so we do like The Oaks. The double bed matress is too hard for our liking so we had thought that we take a matress topper with us this time.

I think it should be made clear that the second bedroom is a mezzanine level with low sloping ceiling. Ok for children but not ideal for adults

Fine place to stay, but a bit noisy in the morning due to farm work.

The Oaks is great for a secluded, quiet and peaceful base to explore The Cotswolds and surrounding areas.
