This comfortable holiday property is centrally located in Kirkwall and is an ideal base for touring the Orkney Islands.

Enjoying lovely views towards Kirkwall Bay, the marina and harbour, The Nook makes the perfect base for exploring this beautiful and unspoilt part of Scotland. Located within easy walking distance of the town centre, the property has been furnished and equipped to a good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. The Orkney Islands boast stunning scenery, beautiful beaches, spectacular cliffs and an abundant and diverse wildlife. A touch oldie-worlde but highly agreeable - the only down-side was the lack of wardrobes and subsequent hanging space.

We came back to this cottage for the second time, having not seen all that we wanted in Orkney during the earlier visit. We loved this cottage. It is not so chintzy that you are afraid to relax in it. It is an ideal mix of comfort, great views and central location for both getting to the rest of Orkney or just walking into Kirkwall and all its amenities. My particular favourite is that after a day out, you can come back to the cottage, pull up two chairs to the bedroom window and just watch the boats going in and out of the harbour with a galss of wine inyour hand. You couldn't beat it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Nook. However it was advertised as decorated at Christmas and when we arrived this had not been done. The television signal did not work on either t.v and we were not allowed to light the open fire in the main living room. We got in touch with the housekeeper straight away who offered us a tree, it was just a bit of a disappointment for our children. The place itself was a little cold, but it was the middle of Winter. The Nook is well equipped and lovely and clean, and is ideal for where we needed to be, which was close to the harbour. We would stay there again if we get the chance to get back.
