Ideally positioned on the side of an interesting, busy harbour. The cottage has room for parking a car at the side. It is well equipped and has the bonus of instant hot water. Kirkwall is a very pleasant town with the benefit of an excellent Information Centre. There are some excellent places to eat in Kirkwall.

We love Orkney and we’re supposed to stay at this house 3 years ago but I was taken seriously ill so we couldn’t come. This house is lovely and the garden is wonderful if you get the sunshine which we did sporadically. The view of the harbours comings and goings are great especially at night and seeing the cruise ships is great too. The kitchen is small but perfectly formed and well equipped, must say wasn’t keen on the outhouse but I do watch a lot of serial killer movies! But, and it’s a big but, the bathroom is dreadful. I know it was spotlessly clean but it was so dated and horrendously decorated that it wasn’t a nice place to be in. Honestly I wouldn’t come back specifically because of the bathroom and that is a shame. Plus throw away other people’s toiletries please. Modernise it and I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

The Nook was comfortable, clean, cosy and very well located. We enjoyed the views of the harbour and liked being within easy walking distance of the centre of Kirkwall. We would recommend the cottage as a base for visiting Mainland Orkney.

Brilliant position, comfortable and cosy living and dining rooms, pleasant bedrooms, however bathroom and, to a lesser extent the kitchen, need updating. Also significant amount of personal items gave a feel of living in "grandma's house".

We were delighted with this holiday home it really couldnt have been in a better location. The views across the harbour were fantastic and we spent ages watching the cruise ships coming and going. Also its only 5-10 mins walk into town. The property is ideal for dog owners comfortable cosy and a fully enclosed garden. The flowers and wine were a lovely touch would definately recommend to anyone.

We loved this cottage! It had the view, the location and it was safe for the children too. A lovely relaxing holiday with only a short walk to the centre of Kirkwall and a 20 minute drive to all the best sites in on Orkneys mainland.

The Nook was warm, welcoming and cosy! It had everything we needed - especially in the kitchen - even a slowcooker and scales! Never rented a cottage so we’ll appointed before!

A lovely house in a great location which made for a great holiday. As others have said it would benefit greatly from an upgrade to the bathroom which is a bit of a granny throwback (albeit perfectly clean).
