Step back in time and enjoy a magical vista of sea, beaches, and the only natural World Heritage designated site in England. Enjoy the most breathtaking views from the South West Coastal Path or simply unwind. Seaton is a beautiful small town at the mouth of the Axe Valley. Its unique tramway runs inland, along the Axe Estuary, to the medieval market town of Colyton and is perfect for birdwatchers, transport enthusiasts or those who simply want to watch the beautiful riverside scenery glide by. Next to the tramway is the Seaton Marshes Nature Reserve. The installation of a viewing hide and wheelchair-friendly paths means this beautiful area and its wildlife - wildfowl and wading birds in winter; dragonflies and butterflies in summer - are now easily accessible all year round. The Mills House is in a great location for walking into Seaton Town which took about 15 minutes. It is on a steep hill so anyone with a disability may well struggle. The house was clean and tidy if somewhat old and tired which I think other reviews had commented on as well. The shower was OK but lacked power so wasn't a particularly fast shower which when you have long hair to wash took longer than usual. The bedrooms were good sizes but not sure what washing powder was used but was very strong smelling on the bed clothes. The 2 bathroom doors didn't shut properly and the main bedroom door was getting stuck when trying to close it. The cottage was very homely and the owners have added lots of nice homely touches but I think some work needs to be completed in the garden, although it said mature gardens the long grass made it quite difficult to pick up the dog poo and my son couldn't kick a ball about as was just too long but it was secure and enclosed. The rusty BBQ and bits of wire racks from the BBQ strewn about the floor was a bit of a hazard so I moved those out of the way and it was fine. I spoke to the owner before picking up the keys and he did tell me that they are doing an extension and renovation work to the property so would be great to see what it looks like after and would possibly resolve some of the issues and maybe why the garden was left so long. Overall I would recommend this property as it has a great location and I think after the extension would be great to see what the property looks like.
