The Loft is a newly refurbished apartment sleeping up to five guests with a fabulous location opposite the main entrance to the Alnwick Garden and right next to the Bondgate Arch into the town.
Housed within an historic building, The Loft contains many original features such as exposed stonework, beam and cast-iron fireplace. The space has a beautiful contemporary feel whilst still retaining its charm and character.
The main front door opens into a corridor with exposed stonework and storage place for hanging outdoor coats and bags.
Stone steps lead up to the Loft on the first floor. The main living area is a perfect social space. All open plan, the kitchen/diner with an island and bar seating area with stools. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, full sized dishwasher, oven and microwave oven.
The lounge area contains a large L shaped sofa with coffee table ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine while watching TV or planning the next day’s events. The large sash windows have views to the Playhouse theatre and over to the beautiful Alnwick Gardens.
The master bedroom is set behind the kitchen and is a lovely, spacious room containing a king-sized iron bed frame, built in mirrored wardrobes with drawers and a dressing table with mirror and plug points set between them.
Within the hallway there is a small toilet and separate bathroom with a large bath with shower over. Outside the bathroom is a small rack for hanging up jackets or fleeces with a bench and shoe storage underneath.
Next door there is a second bedroom with a beautiful triple sleeper bunk bed with single over a double. This is ideal for a family with up to three younger children who don’t mind sharing or two teens. Under the bed are two built in drawers for storage.
For those needing a travel cot and highchair these can be supplied on request. From the main living area there is access onto a private outdoor deck where there is a table and chairs, a perfect spot for a coffee, early evening glass of wine or a meal al fresco.
Between the deck and living area is a small hallway where there is a large cupboard complete with a double height hanging rail and shelf above. This also contains a hoover and iron/ ironing board.
The market town of Alnwick offers a range of fabulous amenities including a theatre/cinema, shops, eateries together with the magnificent Alnwick Castle and Gardens less than 5 minutes’ walk from The Loft, and Barter Books which is also a short stroll. Northumberland’s Heritage coastline is just a few miles away with easy access to other regions via the A1. The mainline train station can be found in Alnmouth with direct regular services to Newcastle Central, Edinburgh and London’s King Cross.
All shops, cafes and restaurants are within a few minutes’ walk of the front door and with a variety of independent grocers there is plenty to choose from if you prefer to not use the supermarket which is easily less than a 10-minute walk. There is so much to do in and around Alnwick, the Loft makes a very convenient place to stay.
