Excellent property in a very handy place to explore Cumbria or hide away.

The Lodge is a lovely place to stay for touring the Lake District & beyond. The cottage is well equipped. Clean & tidy & the welcome pack is an extremely good idea. For your furry friends you can relax with the knowledge that the garden is secure & enclosed. We would have no hesitation booking the cottage to stay again.

The cottage is beautiful with excellently maintained gardens. It is absolutely spotless on arrival. The kitchen is cosy and well equipped with a small conservatory to take your meals in. Both bedrooms are light and airy with plenty of storage space. There were, however, a couple of drawbacks for us. The seating in the living area is uncomfortable at best. There were three adults and we struggled each day. The television is very small and difficult to see from where the sofa is located. The cobble stones just outside the conservatory leading to the gardens are not suitable for those with walking difficulties, or those without or greyhounds.

We have spent a wonderful week in this well equipped cottage. Even the weather was great and we really enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden. A special thank for the fresh eggs and the treats for our dog, which made us feel welcome immediately.

Very smart and well-maintained property, surprisingly so for one that accepts dogs. Great to be able to take the dog out of the back gate into some woods - and even beyond into the near part of the Greystoke estate (we were told to stay the cottage side of the castle). The pub allows dogs too! Having the wood-burning stoves is a nice touch, but the conservatory / dining room was a bit cold in the low temperatures of the week we were there. It would be a nice place to eat otherwise. Altogether - very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would certainly return. We would recommend it to someone visiting the area. Peaceful location but handy for visiting the lakes and surrounding areas.
