The Lodge offers stylish and luxurious accommodation with wonderful country views and is set in picturesque Dorset countryside, in the heart of what was the Royal Stud. It is in a great location to explore this wonderful area, with Sherborne to the west, Shaftesbury to the east and Wincanton to the north.
The Lodge stands detached and is set on the first floor. As you open the doors to the lodge and step inside, you’ll instantly know you’re in for a treat - it is beautifully finished with the décor predominately finished in oak. The living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with wooden beams, and the electric wood burner is an added bonus, perfect for snuggling down for the evening and gazing out the huge glass windows, straight across the countryside. Towards the back of The Lodge you will find a modern fitted shower room and a very spacious bedroom.
The property sits on the edge of cider orchards where the award-winning Copse House cider is made. There are lovely long walks across the Blackmore Vale and several footpaths within easy reach which lead down into the village of Buckhorn Weston and the local pub for wining and dining. Within easy driving there is much to enjoy, whether taking in the lovely character towns of Sherborne, with its shops, castle and abbey, or Shaftesbury with its links to Hovis and the famous Gold Hill. You can enjoy visiting nearby attractions, such as National Trust Stourhead House and Gardens, Longleat House and Safari Park, Haynes International Motor Museum or the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum. Further afield you can venture to the city of Bath, with its Georgian architecture, Salisbury with its fascinating cathedral city and spire, and many more exciting places. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Wonderful cottage and very helpful owners. Views were stunning. Steps to entrance were a bit disconcerting but would definitely recommend and would revisit.

The lodge was a truly beautiful place to stay. The owners have maximised the views with this wonderfully well thought out build. Great location to enable seeing Dorset, Somerset and Devon. The property itself had all mod cons and everything we needed (including the full length mirror on the back of the door). Lovely woman’s touch. Will definitely consider staying here again, if we need to further explore the area for our future relocation.
