Located on the outskirts of Hale Village, which is just 8 miles from Liverpool city centre, this comfortable, single-storey, detached home is perfect for couples, families or groups of friends who want easy access to one of the UK’s most vibrant and well-loved cities.
Situated in the grounds of the owner’s home with gated access, The Lodge provides bright and contemporary accommodation with all the comforts one expects from a holiday home, including one of the best electric showers on the market, Nespresso coffee machine, large flatscreen TV with PlayStation/DVD player and plug sockets with USB points for charging your devices, and of course, the all-important Wi-Fi. To ensure your holiday gets off to a great start, the owner will provide a welcome pack including breakfast items such as bread, pastries, jams, butter, cereals, juice and milk.
The beautiful and historic village of Hale has two good local pubs within a 15-minute walk, a local shop, café and park with a children’s play area. There is also a small convenience store in neighbouring village of Speke which is a 5-10 minute walk. Surrounded by several farms and rolling countryside, the village is close to the Trans Pennine Trail, and the area is great for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and birdwatchers.
It really doesn’t feel like you’re in Liverpool, yet you’re just a few miles away from all of the city’s tourist attractions including the Albert Dock, the Beatles Story and Aintree Racecourse, as well as Liverpool One, a retail and leisure complex with a great selection of shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, museums, theatres and art galleries that attract visitors from all over the world. There is a bus stop on the main road outside the property and from here you can travel directly into the city centre. Bus times are available on the noticeboard in the kitchen and there are plenty of taxi firms so that you can enjoy the city without even having to drive. Thanks to its proximity to the motorway network, it is also a great touring base. Places to visit within easy reach include Speke Hall, 3 miles, Knowsley Safari Park, 9 miles, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, 21 miles, and the historic city of Chester and Chester Zoo, 25 miles. The north west also has miles of unspoilt coastline, including beaches at Ainsdale, Formby and Crosby, where you can see the famous Anthony Gormley sculptures. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

    Our hosts, Sylvie and Lance, were very welcoming and very helpful. Although the Lodge is near the Airport the noise was not too intrusive. The location is very convenient for visits to Liverpool, with a direct bus service running past the property.
