Good holiday cottage. For us two or three negative points: Didn't mind the short section of single track road leading to the property but the last section of the road was of non tarred private road which we didn't like. Hot water pressure too low for the master bedroom shower - we had to use the electric shower in another room and were glad to have it! Would have been a major problem if more than two people in the house. Television signal is quite unacceptable in anything other than dry weather. Signal breaks up if there is rain or wind. This was mentioned by the host on our arrival and is in the information folder in the house which is too late to find out such a thing !!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Feedback is always valid, however at the time of your stay we can endeavour to try to sort issues as they occur. Regarding the stretch of untarmacked road leading up our pathway to our property, this belongs to a neighbour. During very heavy rainfall it does fill with water and is filled once the rain subsides. The TV satellite dish does get some interference again when the weather is stormy as we live in woodland with Silver Birch they blow and bow causing the picture to break up occasionally. I do mention it and have a note in my guest information. I request I be told so that again we are able to rectify by moving the dish ourselves, which we are able to do. I have called out a TV aerial specialist for the area who has suggested cutting branches off the trees that are causing the interference. The shower is not a power shower like the other two which are electric ones in other rooms. It has a three speed variable spray I have since checked and find on the full spray speed it is fully functional. Can I take this opportunity to thank you for your comments and leaving The Lodge so clean and when you left.

The Lodge is well equipped and comfortable if a little out of the way. Would be much better when the weather is good as TV reception not good when wet and windy. If we were to return we would chose a better time of year. We left a week early entirely due to the diabolical weather.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry you were unable to stay the full two weeks of your holiday, you must have been really disappointed. It was a particularly unpleasant country wide storm and at the time we would not have been able to have adjusted the TV for the whole of the duration although we are able to make adjustments. Hopefully you will return to see the Scottish Highlands at another time in all its natural beauty and splendour. Thank for your comments and we will try to make developments were we can.

Lovely cottage. Plenty if kitchen utensils and equipment. Lovely setting with lots of wildlife around. Beds were comfy and the "snug" is actually a third bedroom with small ensuite albeit a futon style sofa bed but was comfy enough for our son. No dishwasher which is not the end of the world but something we are used to seeing now in other holiday homes. The owners live through he well but keep themselves to themselves mostly and it is very quiet and wonderfully dark at night with no streetlight glare.

Family of four, ranging in age from 43 to 82; plus a dog. This was a break from every day worries and the superb, quiet location did just that. With the dog, there were plenty of walks from the house or a short distance away. Within a reasonable walking distance there is a small village with basics, or a few miles away a larger village with more facilities. The house was clean, fully kitted with what you needed to cook/dine with; and comfortable.
