Description

Take a break in luxury in this beautiful, single-storey, contemporary bungalow, surrounded by picturesque countryside, just a few miles outside of central Newport.

These beautiful holiday homes are part of The Gallops complex at the Island Riding Centre (all except The Orchard, ref UKC2496 which is detached from the complex). Island Riding Centre opened in 2017 and features a choice of holiday accommodation and unrivalled equestrian facilities making it a popular destination for families, horse lovers and those visiting relatives on the island or on business.
The riding school itself offers lessons from qualified instructors and caters for riders of all ages and abilities, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. The equestrian centre boasts a 60m x 25m indoor wax-fibre arena with viewing areas and cafe, a 60m x 40m outdoor arena with quality wax surface and superb drainage. For guests wishing to bring their own horses, there is a purpose-built livery yard with horse walker, sheltered wash down area, solarium and ample grazing (subject to ground conditions). On-site hacking is also available as are escorted off-site trail and beach rides.
The Orchard provides everything you need for a self-catering holiday, with a large open plan living space which includes a dining table for 12, a well-equipped kitchen, three large sofas and plenty of space for entertaining. It has proven popular with multi-generational families and large groups. There are four bedrooms, three of which have their own en-suite facilities. Outside, a large patio has a built-in seating area with firepit and an additional al fresco dining area. It also adjoins paddocks which often have the owner’s friendly ‘pet’ sheep and Shetland ponies in which are popular with younger guests. The property has gardens on all sides, ideal for sitting out and enjoying the sunshine. There is private parking for 4 cars with a free electric charging point and additional parking close by in the main car park. An enclosed children’s play area is on-site with its own ‘mini beach’, play equipment and football goals.
With an ’eco-friendly’ ethos, the centre itself boasts solar water heating, rainwater harvesting and a bacteria based waste water treatment facility which requires the management of the type of washing detergents that can be used and therefore an on-site laundry facility within the quadrangle is provided together with a supply of the appropriate washing detergents.
The island’s capital town of Newport is less than 5 minutes’ drive whilst Ryde with its pleasant beaches is less than 15 minutes away. Both are accessible by a direct bus (no 9) which stops right outside the main entrance. A selection of pubs, shops, fish and chip shop and takeaways, chemist and post office are located in Wootton just over a mile away. The island is a paradise for walkers, country lovers, bird watchers and cyclists. There are local forests to enjoy walks and horse riding, and for cyclists there is a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines. Beach 6 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
The Orchard (UKC2496), Shergar (UKC2495), Sefton (UKC2494), Seabiscuit (UKC2493), Pegasus (UKC2492), Marengo (UKC2491), Valegro (UKC2497), Warrior (UKC2498), Red Rum (UKC3586) and Frankel (UKC3587) can be booked together to accommodate up to 62 guests.

    Great time and well chilled out at the end. Perfect for our daughter to ride and the whole family to bond.

    The cottage was perfect for our special needs clients, we had a lovely time there. Our only issues were the dust, which we solved once we got a mop and bucket. We also struggled with the spiders in the bathrooms. Aside form those minor things we had a lovely time. The décor is tastefully light and airy with lots of space. The location is central to all major attractions, lots to do in and around the area.
