An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Perfect for a couple, this stylish barn conversion is well placed for exploring stately homes, castles and the Kent countryside.

This architect-designed single-storey barn conversion, adjoining the owner’s home, provides stylish, contemporary accommodation for the discerning traveller. Accessed by a gravelled drive, The Granary has a vaulted living area providing a calm airy space, with doors leading onto a small, private, shingled courtyard, ideal for a morning coffee or afternoon nap! Residing in the Garden of England, on the Kent/Surrey border, The Granary is superbly placed for exploring a plethora of stately homes and castles. The childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Hever Castle, is a close neighbour, whilst Penshurst Place, owned by Henry VIII and then the Sydney family for 460 years, is also an enjoyable day out. Chartwell, Sir Winston Churchill’s home, and Knole House and grounds, where the film ’Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ was filmed, are all within a short drive.

The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is 14 miles away, where you can stroll the tree flanked colonnaded walk, where markets and a summer jazz festival are held, and in the winter there is a skating rink in nearby Calverley Gardens. Spend a day at the races at Lingfield, take a trip on the Bluebell Railway, or explore Ashdown Forest, home to Winnie the Pooh. Golfers have a choice of local courses, and there are walks from the doorstep. London is easy accessible for a day out, and there are good rail connections to London for further sightseeing opportunities. Beach 34 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This is a lovely cottage, very well equipped with every thing you need and some pleasant surprises. It is surrounded by some wonderful properties and gardens with very little travelling.

We had an excellent holiday at "The Granary". The cottage was stylish, clean and could not be faulted in any respect. We have stayed at a number of excellent holiday cottages over the past twelve years and its fair to say that "The Granary" ranks as one of the very best. The owner was very helpful and helped make the holiday extremely enjoyable. If you like modern stylish cottages, look no further.

We highly recommend this modernised cottage and look forward to another visit. The bed was so comfortable and the extra large shower a joy especially in such hot weather. It was so roomy with our own private outside space and French doors to throw open in the heat. Everything was beautifully appointed including lots of thoughtful extras we didn’t think of and super goodies on arrival. We were so exhausted from all the days out as it was our first visit to Kent and we tried to see everything! We didn’t manage it so we really must return!
