Wonderful views of Tyne Valley

In a hamlet overlooking the picturesque Tyne Valley, this tastefully converted detached granary provides spacious holiday accommodation with fabulous open views. Corbridge is a pretty, small town on the River Tyne and all the delights of historic Hexham, including abbey, museum, and the racecourses are only a 10-minute drive away. The Hadrian’s Wall Walk is nearby, with the Northumberland National Park and the Pennine Way just half an hour’s journey. For shopaholics the Metro Centre is about 30 miles to the east, whilst the glorious Northumberland beaches are an easy day trip. Shop 1 mile, pub 50 yards and restaurant 3 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 1 bunk bedroom. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 1 double bedroom with wooden floor. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Z bed (for child) available on request.

Electric coal-effect fire in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot. High chair. Two Freeview TV’s. Two DVD’s. CD. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

    Great cottage which was perfect for our needs. Good location and excellent value for money.

    Cottage tired and in need of refurbishment. Sofa's very uncomfortable and old. No welcome pack. Lack of basic amenities such as washing up bowl and washing up liquid. No bin's provided for disposal of dog waste so had to leave it outside the door. Worst of all was the terrible smell in the cottage which we reported to the manager who oversees the property.

    This cottage really is in a fanstatic location with amazing views and a well thought out lay out. If you are taking a dog with you then you'll find well marked footpaths and lovely routes. The cottage itself is pretty well kitted out (but a pair of oven gloves would be useful). We did buy bottled water as the supply tasted very chlorinated but that can't be held against the property. The garden is secure and you can bolt the gate from the inside. There is a raised patio area which is not fenced. The beds were comfortable with lovely white linen and the upstairs bedroom has a wonderful view and an en suite bathroom/ shower room. Both showers were really powerful and a joy to use. The property could do with some general maintenance and some areas needed to be given a deep clean but it is mid season and change over time is often too quick for doing those time consuming tasks. The parking is in the pub car park next door to the property. The pub itself is clearly popular and the menu was pretty extensive. There are polite and helpful staff working there. Over all I think you would have to go a long way to find a better property. Near by Hexham has a Waitrose, Tesco, either Lidl or Aldi and a small Co op with plenty of other shops in the centre. Any negative points I have raised are far out weighed by the positive points and are purely observations as we would happily holiday there again.

    Our holiday was perfect, location just what we needed and our dog loved playing in the garden and the pub next door and staff was amazing.

    Lovely comfortable and spacious cottage with stunning views . Pub next door has excellent food and the staff are friendly and welcoming. .

    Granary Cottage is charming, and the setting is incredible. The view from the house was absolutely breathtaking. We were thoroughly spoiled by the lovely staff at the pub, and the meals we had there were delicious. It all went to making it a wonderful week's holiday. The one and only downer, in the whole trip, was that the sofas in the lounge were very deep and only suitable for pretty tall people, (my husband and I are by our own admission a pair of "shorties"). We could only manage to sit in any reasonable comfort with our legs dangling over edge!!
