This single storey barn conversion is set on a 55 acre working cattle farm midway between Honiton and Cullompton in the beautiful Blackdown Hills. It is near the picturesque village of Broadhembury and is ideally suited for exploring east Devon. Locally you can enjoy walking and riding, visit Dunkeswell Abbey or for the more adventurous, there is Dunkeswell Aerodrome for parachuting, skydiving and microlight flying. The well known seaside resort of Sidmouth is 15 miles for family days out, and slightly further Seaton and the famous Lyme Regis with its Cobb, beach and harbour. An ideal base for families, walkers and bird watchers. Shop 5 miles. Village shop/post office/tea room and pub with food 0.5 miles.

    The decking was out of bounds as needed fixing so we couldn't sit outside. We had two days without power so we had to go without showers. The cottage heating was inadequate, we felt cold. The gentleman was quite friendly though.

    Response on behalf of the owner; The decking is out of bounds because it needs repairing as the wooden supports were rotten. As anyone will appreciate, this takes time and finding an appropriate craftsman but it is being dealt with. It is possible to sit outside the door if required and in a garden area close by. However, the weather was not suitable for outside sitting at the time of their stay. As soon as we were made aware of the lack of power, it was dealt with. An electrician was called the following morning and dealt with the immediate problem. However, the switch still tripped that evening so another electrician was called the next morning and fixed the problem. The weather was not particularly warm and the cottage has night storage heaters although there is a wood burner available. Although we dealt with the problems as soon as we were able, at no time did the guests rigorously complain and they said they had enjoyed their holiday.
