We stayed with a large family group for a golden wedding celebration and would heartily recommend the house for that purpose with 2 reservations. The approach road is a mass of craters and not for the nervous driver! We were also disappointed that in such a generally clean, well equiped and comfortable house both ovens were filthy and we had to wash the freezer drawers which had alot of stale frozen beer in them as well as being in serious need of a defrost. The BBQ was also unuseable. In spite of this we had wonderful time, the Railway Inn at nearby Ripple has first class beer and food and watching the boats go by on the river a rare treat..

Perfect stay, just unfortunate you need a 4x4 to use the non tarmac lane to get to the property. Other than that the place is perfect and we will be back again

The new bathrooms were lovely and bedroom layout was great. Sadly the living room isn't big enough for the 14 people the house sleeps and the downstairs of the house wasnt clean and smelled awful when we arrived. The upstairs and downstairs were like two different houses!

We enjoyed a large family get together here in January, and would highly recommend the Ferryman's cottage for that purpose. The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped for large gatherings (with enough kitchen equipment for a large family roast). The photos don't really do the property justice, the bathrooms are all very modern and luxurious. Most importantly for a winter gathering, the house is extremely warm and comfortable (we have rented a number of properties in January and that is not always the case in some of the older properties). The only constructive comment I would give is that the road to the property is full of pretty deep pot-holes which had got very waterlogged when we were there. We were able to access the property ok, but I would not have wanted to drive a small or old car down that road in winter. The owner was very helpful before our stay, and it was all very smooth and easy. Thanks a lot! I would strongly recommend this property for large gatherings, and we would certainly return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ferryman's Cottage over New Year. The rooms were comfortable and provided a good mix of double beds and singles for our mixed family group. The bathrooms were all clean, modern and plentiful - there were five full bathrooms with showers and one additional toilet. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with plenty of plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc so it was easy to cater for the group. The living room was not really big enough to accommodate fourteen of us comfortably but the dining room sat us easily so we were able to use this area too. The WiFi was not great but adequate. The garden was well fenced so suitable for our dog and there was easy walking along the river directly from the cottage. The drive to the cottage was interesting with some significant puddles on the last bit of the lane/driveway but otherwise the location is conveniently close to the M5/M50 but has the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Food at the nearby Railway Inn was excellent. All in all I'd recommend the cottage as somewhere that is well equipped, warm and comfortable and suited our needs as a convenient venue for a family get together.

Road to cottage is very rough and lots of potholes but it is in a beautiful setting. We loved it.
