The house was great, plenty of space with big bedrooms and most of them ensuite. House was dirty though with big cobwebs. There were no tea towels, toilet paper or hand soap which we were impressed with. There were 14 of us and the house had barely one toilet roll between us all. The owner was also quite rude to us upon arrival. Overall the house was good in terms of space but it was poorly equipped and the owners attitude could have been better as he was absolutely determined we would not leave the house until we had the paid the £45 fuel charge - why this couldn't have been sorted at the point of paying the balance I don't know.

We were looking for a property that would fit 9 people ranging in age from 20 months to 75 yrs for a family Christmas and Ferryman’s Cottage certainly provided the space - the number of bedrooms & bathrooms available was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and with 2 ovens and fridges was very suitable. The house did not seem well insulated in terms of noise - conversations in the kitchen could easily be heard upstairs but it was warm and functional. We were able to arrange high chairs and cots which was very helpful however, we were a little disappointed to be told there would be no decorations up for Christmas week (considering the cost, I thought a tree would have been do-able, even if just an artificial one.). Directions & key collection was all very straightforward.

We found the cottage and absolute joy to stay in, extremely well equipped, warm and modern, with a nice friendly feel. Would definitely like to stay again.

Group of golfers stayed in this excellent property. Very enjoyable stay, several nearby golf courses and a very good pub within walking distance. We would certainly stay there again.

We stayed with a large family group for a golden wedding celebration and would heartily recommend the house for that purpose with 2 reservations. The approach road is a mass of craters and not for the nervous driver! We were also disappointed that in such a generally clean, well equiped and comfortable house both ovens were filthy and we had to wash the freezer drawers which had alot of stale frozen beer in them as well as being in serious need of a defrost. The BBQ was also unuseable. In spite of this we had wonderful time, the Railway Inn at nearby Ripple has first class beer and food and watching the boats go by on the river a rare treat..

Perfect stay, just unfortunate you need a 4x4 to use the non tarmac lane to get to the property. Other than that the place is perfect and we will be back again
