We had a lovely week in this very nice cottage, set in the peaceful village of Box. The owners, who live next door, were very welcoming and friendly, it was a joy at night to watch the foxes and badgers feeding in the garden. The common on the outskirts of the village is great for dog walking, it also has a pub which is only a 10 minute walk and dog friendly, The cottage was very clean, comfortable and warm, We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again

This was our second stay at The Fernery as we loved it so much the first time! The cottage is charming, well equipped and very clean! Pat and Rodney are lovely, very welcoming and friendly! Box is a beautiful, quiet village and a great base for lots of days out! Everything nearby is dog friendly from the cafes and pubs to the shops. We felt so relaxed at the cottage and both we and the dog slept really well. Watching the Badgers and foxes feeding on the lawn each evening was just totally magical. We will definitely be back again!

A very nice country cottage with an abundance of wildlife - badgers and foxes in front garden! The cottage was very clean and comfortable, however, there were no dressing table stools or chairs in either of the two bedrooms and no accessible mirrors with nearby plug points.

A lovely cottage with everything you could need. The gardens are lovely and it has the added attraction of amazing visiting wildlife coming up from the adjoining woods (easy walking paths) . The owners are just the nicest people and live next door so always available if needed and happy to chat, but wont bother you if you don't want them. The village has a café (excellent) and a good pub/ restaurant on the common (15 mins walk away) but nothing else, but if you want supermarkets or more then Stroud is a five minute drive and Nailsworth is only a mile down a very steep hill. Pleasant canal side walks from Stroud, and National Trust properties and arboretum all very close by. A beautiful holiday cottage and very relaxing.
