Relax in this Grade II listed, 17th-century Tudor brick house, adjacent to an award-winning golf club, hotel and spa.

The Farmhouse is a detached Grade II listed, 17th-century Tudor brick house, which was once owned by the legendary Dorset smuggler ‘Isaac Gulliver’. It was the original property to occupy the farmland that the golf course sits on today.

Enjoy our 18-hole Championship Golf Course, Par 3 6 Hole Academy Course, putting and chipping green and 10 bay covered driving range; preferential rates are available for residents. Spa with pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium. Treatments are available to book Monday to Saturday. Booking in advance is essential.

The large well-presented and equipped house offers an ideal place for a family holiday or a short break with friends. The house has spacious living, kitchen and dining facilities, utility room, four en-suite bedrooms and two bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. There is an enclosed garden, patio area, barbecue and a private driveway with ample parking.

The location is great, easily found and a 5-minute journey from Bournemouth International Airport. Nearby, enjoy the Stour and Forest Trail and Stour Valley Way. Further afield are many coastal and inland footpaths, including the Dorset Coastal Path where you can enjoy the Jurassic coastline. The local area has two popular parks, Avon Heath Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park. The nearest traffic-free cycle paths are in Hurn Forest and the Castleman Trail. There are also many trails all over the New Forest National Park, where wild ponies roam freely among miles of heathland. There are many other places of interest to visit within the area, such as the village of Burley, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum. Regular ferries to the Isle of Wight depart from the famous royal yachting town of Lymington. Bournemouth beach is close by, being 4 miles away. At the foot of the pier is the fascinating Oceanarium where the whole family can discover life beneath the waves. Poole is within easy reach, with its sandy beach at Sandbanks and the harbour town where trips to Brownsea Island (National Trust) can be enjoyed. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile, restaurants on-site.

Lots of space for a girls weekend away - there were 12 of us and plenty of room for all of us. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and access to the spa was great. Highly recommend

All twelve of us (ten Adults, two toddlers) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Farmhouse being together as a family. We found the staff to be most friendly and helpful and the extra facilities (spa, swimming pool and treatments very relaxing) plus the driving range was enjoyed. We were not able to recycle items as there were no apparent facilities for us to do so as we do at home. The shared facilities for the downstairs bedrooms did cause a little congestion in the mornings, an en suite in the large downstairs bedroom would have been an advantage. The child gates did not fit the stairs.

This is the second year that we have stayed at the farmhouse. We like it as it holds 12 in 6 bedrooms 5 of which are en-suite. The use of the hotel facilities including pool, beauty and small gym are good. It is not too far from Bournemouth beaches and other attractions.

Spent the weekend as a hen party of 12. Enough room for all to relax. Helped that the weather was glorious so made use of the large garden. Good, large, fully equipment kitchen which enabled us to hire a local personal chef for the evening. All round good value, spacious house.

Had a lovely time at the farmhouse. Bathrooms were very clean and newly fitted. Bedrooms could do with decoration being freshened up. Really good facilities, everything you need and a lovely garden.

Not up to other large houses we have stayed in as a family. One of the showers had a serious leak pouring water onto the hob in the kitchen. Pouring not dripping! Tap in kitchen dripped. I feel it is young family geared not grown up family which we were. Flower boxes outside were full of weeds - I weeded them! Comfortable but not home from home.

Enjoyed our stay. Would be even better if there was a bath for the younger kids. Enjoyed the hotel facilities as well.

We went as a group of 10 for my 50th birthday on the 2nd March. Unfortunately it snowed the day before, and we panicked. Well we needn’t have, the staff phoned on the morning and warned me that due to the weather there was only one staff member on duty. We had booked in the bistro and was told we would have to accept whatever was given, which was understandable. When we arrived we met the one staff member, Taylor. He was just amazing and deserves a very special mention. I can imagine people in his situation would Have been miserable, he was receptionist, Barman and chef. He could not have done enough and was brilliant, he was funny, charming and helpful, couldn’t say enough about him. The cottage in terms of position and use of the facilities could Not have been better. My only criticism of the cottage is that it’s cold even with the heating on. Especially if you planned sitting in the lounge. We spent all the time in the kitchen which was really nice. The bedrooms were comfortable and more than adequate for us. The spa facilities for us were great as we basically had it to ourselves, as there were only four other guests. I think the bar has a nice feel to it, but I would say the food on the second night in the bistro was a bit bland, even though there were chefs there! However that aside we all agreed we would go back as it is really good value for money, and someone please say well done to Taylor, he’s a star!

The farmhouse was a great place for a reunion for 12 of us over the weekend. We were able to cook a large roast dinner in the kitchen because there were 2 good sized ovens and a large hob, and the dining table seated 12 easily. All 4 en-suite bedrooms upstairs were a nice size with comfortable beds, but the 2 downstairs bedrooms had to share a small shower room and a toilet located the other side of the kitchen so that wasn't ideal. Some of us made good use of the swimming pool and spa facilities which were an added bonus. Dinner on Friday evening was at the White Hart, a pub in walking distance with good unpretentious food and very friendly service. Great location for the house, and the proximity to the main road wasn't a problem.
