Claxton Grange lies 6 miles from York and is in 16-acres of private grounds, games room, garden room, hard tennis court and wildlife pond. York is a city full of history with its minster, cobbled streets, museums, the National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Castle Museum, as well as an excellent choice of shops, restaurants and riverside inns. The market town of Pickering, gateway to the North York Moors National Park and terminus of the moors steam railway, 20 miles. Filey, Scarborough and Whitby are all within 40 miles. Castle Howard, 10 miles. Clifton Moor with bowling and cinema complex, 6 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub/restaurants 2 miles.

    Great house. Perfect for our family gathering. The swimming pool and games room were a real bonus for the children. We had a great time.

    A great house with wide range of additional facilities in a great location, we all had a fantastic time. Had everything you would need and was warm, welcoming and generally clean and in order. In the house some beds nearing need of replacement and some kitchen bits pastntheir best, pool needs less chlorine but nnenof this would detract from a great stay.
