Our hosts were very welcoming and eager to advise on local Amenities . We loved the tray of tea and a delicious Dorset Apple Cake awaiting our arrival. A beautiful area awaited our discovery and although it was wintry and cold there were still many places to visit and places to have tea and cakes or something warm and filling.

Only a few days but very nice stay. Very historic; living room ceiling has original Tudor pattern still clearly visible. Local amenities a bit sparse but plently going on within an approx 20 mile radius. In our 4 night stay visited Forde Abbey, Lyme Regis and Sherborne Castle (highly recommended especially house itself). Ceiling patterns reflected in the cottage living room!

Wonderful stay in The Elbow. Friendly owners who surprised us with home made cake at arrival. Lovely Tudor style cottage with all modern comfort. Nice garden with extra sheltered area.

We spent a wonderful week at the Elbow, revisiting a number of places in Dorset as well as discovering a couple of new ones. One couldn't wish for a more perfect base than this.
