Description

Perfectly situated in a small rural hamlet between Bath and Bristol, just off Junction 18 of the M4, this pretty stone cottage is an ideal base from which to explore The Cotswold’s and South West.

Set in 6 acres of grounds

Set in the picturesque 6 acres of grounds of Hinton Grange, a former hotel now lived in by the owners. The Campbell Cottage (27748), one of 4 cottages on-site, is a converted terrace single storey barn with two large bedrooms, each with en-suite roll top bathrooms and a living room with fully fitted kitchen. The property also boasts a large private and fully enclosed garden. While The Drake Studio (27747) is semi-detached cottage with ground floor accommodation. Unique to Hinton Grange all accommodations come with an open log fire, why not relax in the evening with a glass of wine watching the flames dance and crackle? In addition most of the owners 6 acres are open to guests with only a small section privatised. All guests have 24 hour access to not only the games room, which hosts a full sized snooker table, table tennis, giant jenga and darts board, but also the laundry room with free use of the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The Campbell Cottage can be booked together with The Drake Studio, and both lie just off the M4, yet are surrounded by open fields and countryside, and being on the Cotswolds Way footpath, are ideal for walkers and cyclists. Virtually next door is the 17th-century Dyrham Park (National Trust), a grand baroque mansion with sweeping views towards Bristol, and also the venue for many concerts and summer events. The properties are only 9 miles to the centre of Bath, with many famous attractions including Pulteney Bridge, the abbey, Roman Baths, Aquae Sulis Spa and the sweeping Georgian crescents. Bath is a lively, year-round destination, with museums, galleries, cultural events and unique shopping. Further afield is the start of the Cotswolds and within a short drive are the historic cities of Bristol, Wells and Salisbury. The coastal resorts of Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon and Burnham-on-Sea are within an hour’s drive. There is a coarse fishing lake and a championship golf course, open to non-members, just 4¼ miles away. Although a small hamlet Hinton itself has a very popular award winning pub and a number of supermarket choices are an easy 5 mile drive away. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 6 guests.

We stayed a week at this wonderful cottage. It was beautifully prepared and we we had a fantastic welcome from our host Angela who had left a wonderful welcome pack including bread she had baked. Although small it has everything that you need for exploring a lovely area very close to Bristol and Bath. Hinton also benefits from a lovely pub less than five minutes from the cottage which serves lovely food. We visited Bristol and Bath both less than 30 minutes away and we also visited three excellent National Trust properties one , Dyrham Park, is right next door. We were also able to visit Stonehenge (now ticked off the bucket list) which is about 90 minutes away. I can certainly recommend this cottage for location, welcome, comfort and amenities.

Very cosy retreat near a very good pub. Friendly welcome from Mrs gent and a very comprehensive welcome pack. Larger studio than the photographs give the impression of and very well equipped. Shower very powerful and hot. Ideal for quiet stay and near to Bath and Bristol. would recommend for cosy, quiet retreat.

Overall an enjoyable place to stay for a few days in Autumn. Close by car to Bristol and Bath it is an excellent base for exploring. Dyrham Park, a NT property is virtually next door and well worth a visit. The associated cottages would also suit families as lots of facilities for kids.

this is a lovely little studio but is very isolated and we found it awkward to get back to late at night. the only problem inside was the bed unless you like a really firm bed. the owner Angela is very friendly and leaves a lovely welcome pack. i was not feeling to well at the time we stayed so this may have reflected a bit on my opinion. its a shame as it is a lovely place.

We loved staying at the drake studio and will be looking to return in the furrier. Angela was very welcoming and made is handmade bread which my husband loved. The cottage was a great base for us and had some good local amenities, but still kept the character of the lovely views. My only thing I would change would be that the bed was very hard. I am 8 months pregnant and I really struggled as it was very firm

Ideal location for most tourist attractions around bath area. Owners very friendly and helpful. Nice quiet location. Studio compact but adequate, could have done with more cutlery and crockery. For the money could not fault it.
