The Dairy has been renovated to a high standard and offers some fabulous views of the rolling countryside from the open plan lounge. Its bi-fold doors lead straight onto a good-sized patio area; this is also a sun trap so it is great for those looking to top up their tans or simply sitting in the midday sun and listening to the local wildlife and animals here. There is a stunning kitchen with all the appliances you could need for that home-from-home feel. Enjoy the underfloor heating to the ground floor and a wood burner in the living room for those colder evenings. If you want to explore the area on a bicycle then there is a bike shed just outside the property.
The Dairy is situated in the village of Skenfrith on the owners’ working sheep, beef and arable farm, a few minutes’ walk from Skenfrith Castle, on the Monnow River, and just 6 miles from historic Monmouth. This town has the only remaining fortified bridge in the UK with a tower standing on the bridge, as well as a wide range of bars, restaurants, shops, and boutiques. For walkers and ramblers there are great local walks in the Monnow Valley in addition to the Three Castles Walk, the Offa’s Dyke path, and the Skirrid, 8 miles from the property, which has spectacular views of the rolling countryside from the top across to the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The historic market town of Abergavenny is 12 miles away and plays host to some fabulous events throughout the year, including the award-winning food festival in September. For foodies, there is also a Michelin-starred restaurant just outside Abergavenny, and the village pub is within walking distance of the property.
