The perfect location for a peaceful getaway overlooking the River Severn, ideal for exploring the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Set in the quiet village of Minsterworth overlooking the River Severn, and in a prime viewing location for the Severn Bore, this semi-detached holiday cottage lies next door to the owners’ home, and is a delightful waterside spot from which to explore the local countryside. There is a driveway offering off-road parking for two cars, a lovely lawned garden with colourful borders and a seating area with garden furniture and BBQ.
Situated close to the three counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, you will be able to visit many local attractions within a very short drive and it is ideal for a walking holiday exploring the Cotswolds, Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills. There is also a riverside public footpath to enjoy.
The Forest of Dean is popular all year round with outdoor pursuits such as climbing, mountain biking, dedicated cycle tracks to suit all abilities, walking, fishing and many visitor attractions such as Puzzlewood, Go Ape and the steam railway, to mention just a few.
Only a short journey takes you to historic Gloucester with its wonderful cathedral where Harry Potter was filmed. You can enjoy learning about the history of the area, or even make a shopping trip to the designer outlet at Gloucester Quays, which has museums, bars and cafés. Cheltenham is only a 20-minute drive and provides ample opportunity to eat in one of the fabulous restaurants and brasseries that fill the centre, or even enjoy a day at the races at the famous Regency Cheltenham Racecourse.
Travelling a little further into the Herefordshire and Worcestershire countryside, you will find the cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford, and also the popular market town of Ledbury and lively Upton-upon-Severn with its annual jazz festival. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Our stay at the COTTAGE was most enjoyable ! Right from the start we were pampered with such a lot of delicious food and goodies in the fridge and in the whole house like never ever before ! The house and the garden were in a perfect condition - truely a little paradise ! We have spent our holidays in British holiday homes more than 20 times. This has certainly been the best ! Absolutely outstanding ! David , our host has been the most HELPFUL and Friendly host that we have ever met enjoying our holidays in BRITAIN ! His wife has also been most charming We are looking forward to return to David and his cottage! Garten and Brigit I

The position of the cottage was perfect for the area being the "best vantage point for the Severn Bore". We did see the bore on several occasions but only once was it spectacular and was fortuitously viewed from the bedroom window. The local pub - The Severn Bore - was not the most exotic pub we visited but the staff were pleasant and welcoming. The cottage itself was comfortable and had everything we could have wished for even to the extent of very generous filled fridge. There would have been no need to buy anything for the first days! The owners could not have been more helpful whenever needed but were not intrusive at all and helpful with plenty of advice and ideas. There was an excellent Farm Shop a couple of miles down tyhe road towards the Forest of Dean which could have advertised itself a little better as without the guidance of the owners we could easily have missed it. The food (both takeaway and eat in was excellent. Would highly recommend the cottage and will almost certainly think about returning.

The owners were great , could not do enough but we felt it was to small for 6 people only two could sit around the kitchen table at any one time , there was no Dishwasher or bedside lamps in two of the rooms

We stayed at the cottage from Monday to Friday. It is a good base for visiting the surrounding areas. David and Margaret the owners who live next door are very welcoming and supply lots of added extras such as eggs bacon sausages milk butter and a lovely cake and flowers. We enjoyed our stay and came home rested and relaxed just what we needed.

Lovely friendly welcome had all the equipment needed, clean and lovely location by river. Only comment would be a little tight for space when dining and husband had to come downstairs to use the loo in middle of night but overall really nice place.
