Lovely clean cottage. I would have given 10 overall except the living room smelt doggy - the owners are very clear that this is a pet friendly cottage though so it's our own fault for not being animal lovers! We didn't hear their dogs at all the entire weekend we stayed. The cottage could not have been any cleaner, it was immaculate. Very well stocked kitchen. Hot tub a very welcome treat. The owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed. Don't come here if you want a loud, boisterous weekend away, it's not that kind of place. There are neighbours so consideration for noise levels is important- that said, we were 3 women staying in the cottage and did not feel overlooked at all. We were left to ourselves and would all recommend the cottage. Absolutely great value for money. A real treat.

Hornsea is a beautiful town Highly recommendable. The downside of our trip was the disgusting attitude of the owners of the cottage! They bombarded us with rules as soon as we got there and were extremely rude and confrontational when we apparently stayed in the hot tub for over 2 hours! That is 2 hours for the whole day! The picture on the web site of the hot tub is very misleading The surrounding garden was overgrown and shabby and we literally backed on to a building site. The bags of dog faeces in the garden were also obviously off putting. I would not recommend this cottage to anyone and as a group of professional nurses and practitioners felt very threatened by especially the woman s attitude and behaviour! Disgusting. Totally spoilt our otherwise fabulous weekend. Don’t be put off plenty of other places to rent In a beautiful setting just not there!!! Be warned.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; On arrival, we went through some housekeeping and health and safety requirements which is standard when there is a hot tub. It was pointed out that it is not recommended that users stay in the hot tub for more than two hours at any one time. A request was made to keep the noise down (to be mindful of our neighbours) and not to use glass bottles in the hot tub. We do not limit use of the hot tub. The picture on the website accurately shows the enclosed patio garden area which is well maintained and private. There is some work taking place adjacent to the property but this is very low key and the garden is enclosed with a two metre high fence. There was one small waste bag in our garden area which actually didn’t contain any dog faeces but had garden waste in. At no point were we rude or confrontational, and we are tremendously upset that you did not enjoy your stay at The Cottage.

Amazing place to say, everything was spotless, the hosts are lovely and give great recommendations , just a short walk away from the town centre (not loads there but it’s perfect for a relaxing weekend away).
