Amazing cottage which is decorated to a high standard. The cottage is extremely clean and looked after by the owners. The owners live next door and we didn’t really see a lot of them but it was handy to know that they were there should we need anything. The hot tub was very well maintained. Lots to do in the local area. Will definitely be going back.

We had a very relaxing break in this spotlessly clean well equipped cottage. The cottage is a very short stroll in to the town centre with pubs bars and restaurants.

The cottage was nice itself and the pubs and restaurants were lovely. The rules are you aren't allowed in the hot tub after half 10 which really ruined the weekend for us. On Saturday night we didn't go in at all as we worried we would be too loud.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I was extremely disappointed to read your recent comments on our lovely cottage. We always ask that guests respect our neighbours and do not use the hot tub after 10pm which we explained when you arrived and which is a perfectly reasonable request. What I didn’t expect was to be disturbed at 2am by you and your friends in the hot tub which put me in a difficult position by having to ask you to vacate it. We are very accommodating and will always go the extra mile to make our guests stay enjoyable which can be seen by previous reviews but we also in return expect our guests to comply with our requests. I am not sure why you felt you couldn’t use the hot tub on the Saturday as it was available until 10pm.

Absolutely fantastic cottage, Val & Glen the owners cannot do enough for you and do there best to give you the best privacy they can while popping over to maintain the hot tub keeping it up to the highest standards! I personally do not understand the bad review given and feel it was unfairly scored! The furniture, beds, bedding are of the highest quality especially the beds as they were incredibly comfortable which I believe is important for a good nights sleep! The location I found was very good and close enough to the town centre perhaps a 10 minute stroll (max) with plenty of eateries and bars, I would recommend knights for a nice gin cocktail! I would definitely recommend staying at the wonderful little home from home cottage and know we will be returning for another holiday and to visit the wonderful friends we made in Val & Glen.

We really enjoyed our holiday at The Cottage. Val and Glenn were really welcoming and helpful. The cottage is wonderful especially the hot tub. Very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. It was very good and suitable for our autistic daughter too. The town centre is only a short walk away but as the home is away from the main road it is still very private. When we next come back to Yorkshire we will definitely stay here.

The cottage it self was nice but the owners are next door and they are always around. My kids couldnt enjoy themselves we felt like we was being watched. When the kids was in the hot tub the owners kept coming out telling them to put lid on but kids being kids wanted to be in and out and we felt like we could not enjoy the holiday. Out holiday was for mon-fri but we left on wednesday due to not been able to relax coz of owners. We pay alot of money to stay here but left early as i felt i could not let the kids play and it wasnt enjoyable
