What a delight. The cottage is more of a quirky cabin with access straight out into The New Forest. There was everything we needed inside to prepare any meal and all linen and towels were supplied. The hosts were charming and despite being on their property the location of the cottage felt very private. The piano was a huge hit. We didn't use the pool as we were off season but it is next to the cottage so children could easily be supervised while sitting on the patio taking in the breathtaking, unspoilt views. We have looked for availability in the winter as soon as we got home. Quiet, clean and cosy. Well done Dockens Water.

Heating inadequate as was the kitchen and bathroom. The lounge and bedroom were shabby and all was in very bad order wi-fi dropping in out all the time. My wife would not used shower because of the mould floor and the walls .We went home on Thursday morning instead of Friday

Fantastic location and cosy enough and comfortable. If you are an outdoor person and want walks literally on the doorstep, then this is the perfect location.

Second stay here & already booked again! Quaint, comfortable cottage, fab setting amongst fields & fab walks. 2 pubs within walking distance, good food & dogs welcome. Only downside is the shower isn't great but that's not the end of the world. My favourite weekend hide away, love it!

What's not to love about this place? I've read the other reviews and they focus on the smell from the hoover and the fact there's no internet access... They've completely missed the point of this beautiful little cabin in the woods. Yes, it's basic and the internet access isn't fabulous, but it's an oasis of tranquility away from the rat race and the stress of modern life. It's meant to be back to basics. Just you and nature. If you want a five star hotel, book a five star hotel. This is LITERALLY a cabin in the woods: there's an abundance of wildlife; open stretching skies; miles of trails to follow and lose yourself; pubs galore if you know where to look... You wake up to wild horses at your window, for goodness sake. What more could you ask for? And as for the track that leads to the cabin - it's in the WOODS! What do you expect? Go slow. Take your time. Enjoy every second. There's no rush at Dockens Water. That is the whole point. Would recommend in a heart beat.

This location is fine if you drive a four wheel drive vehicle. In my car the track leading to Dockens water damaged my suspension and caused sever problems

We had the best time here and will definitely return. The owners and staff could not be more helpful. My little one cried because she did not want to leave ! So many beautiful sights to be seen. Perfect for the dogs. Swimming pool is heated. Sauna. Board games for rainy days. Everything we needed that we forgot was in the cottage. Owners dogs so cute. We did Peppa Pig world, riding at eastmoor stables and the zip line on Brighton pier which I recommend for families. Also recommend the tall tree trail near by to see the tallest trees in the new forest. Thankyou for a wonderful and relaxing week.

The lady who deals with the bookings is a little off-putting, but the owner is lovely. A lovely lodge, comfortable beds, warm swimming pool, stunning views with wonderful surprise visitors. It could have been a little cleaner and it would have been nice to have a few welcome bits but I would still definitely recommend.

Cottage is a wooden cabin and should be advertised as such ...bathroom was very poor ..not finished off to a good standard and the freezer part of the fridge was full of ice and needed to be de-frosted...on the plus side the location is fantastic can walk off into the forest from the back door and the swimming pool was an added bonus as the weather was very hot ...
