Close by is The Packhouse, an antiques emporium set on various floors and with a café/bistro. There are two good pubs serving food, about 10 minutes’ walk and Farnham station is also walking distance. The owners also offer collection from the station for guests or even from the airport for overseas visitors, and they will also order in food by prior arrangement.
Nearby are Hogs Back Brewery Tours, Loseley House and Gardens, Watts Gallery, Rural Life Centre and Birdworld. Farnham town centre, about 1½ miles distant, has a host of shops, cafés and The Maltings, which is a cultural organisation with theatre and dance productions, pottery, art textiles and photography. Slightly further is Jane Austen’s House at Chawton, Gilbert White Musem at Selborne, Chichester Cathedral, Fontwell or Goodwood, Petworth House, Portsmouth with ferry trips to the Isle of Wight and Spinnaker Tower, retail shopping and Gunwharf Quays. Many guests visit the Watercress Steam Railway which stops at nearby Alresford, a delightful nostalgic trip back in time.
