Excellent. The cottage seems to be in the middle of nowhere yet is close to good walks and local tourist amenities. The cottage itself is simple but comfortable; the views from the windows are superb. Although in the middle of the lambing season, the owners were happy to talk about what they were doing and to give advice on walks etc.

A lovely cottage for a couple like us who want peace and quiet. The view of mountains from the door is stunning whatever the weather and cannot be beaten. If you like walking you can leave the car alone all week if you want to as there are paths in all directions to follow and explore. If you do a big shop on the way up then Coniston is ideal for top ups during your stay and is only a 15 minute drive. A great place to buy gifts to take home too. The cottage owners are charming and very friendly and approachable. We have been 4 years in a row now and just want to return more each time. No traffic, no people, no tv, no internet signal and a poor phone signal - obviously not ideal for a family but for a couple who enjoy the outdoors and the quiet life like us then it's 10/10 every time !
