Lovely cottage with character. The owners were friendly and helpful. Beautiful Hall and gardens, which we were allowed to use (gardens). Very quiet and peaceful, in an ideal location to explore Devon, Dorset and Somerset. So much to see and do - a week wasn't long enough! Comfortable bedroom and lounge. Clean and tidy. Plentiful supplies of soap, washing up liquid etc. The kitchen and bathroom are old and really need replacing, but were perfectly functional. Limited WiFi but that wasn't a problem for us. The cottage is old and unfortunately rather damp, but I soon learned to dry our towels in the sun on the airer outside. There's a Tesco nearby for supplies. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

Disappointing. The cottage was very damp with a mouldy shower curtain and dining table - had to thoroughly clean both to try to get rid of the smell. The kitchen is dropping to bits and was not properly clean. The sofa was lumpy and uncomfortable, however the bed was comfortable but damp. Clean sheets and fluffy towels did not make up for the state of the bathroom which was dismal. Carpets were new with a sign requesting removal of footwear, however we did not enjoy hopping the woodlice that inhabit the place. The gardens are lovely. We didn't stay the whole week even though the weather was great. We were also unhappy that there was a Summer ball on site that we had been unaware of until the day before we arrived and that we were invited to pay to join, even though this event compromised our outside space and expected peace.
