This cottage is circa 1740 so has uneven floors/ceilings etc and steep open stairs, very interesting and enables you to immerse yourself in the Medieval feel of this beautiful area, whose wealth depended on wool in days gone by. Warm and comfortable but also open beams and all the relevant wildlife expected in an old cottage. Not for you if you like streamlined glass and steel! Interesting historical photos available. Two pubs within walking distance , one serves food. Shop within walking distance. Lovely church too. Garden is on the front so not private and driveway extremely steep but parking on front if you get there first! Basic equipment for self catering and comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, very small TV, no WIFI - all acceptable as priced well. Visited Lavenham (a must) Coggeshall and Melford. Good weather enhanced our stay.
