The Coach House was the original place for the coach, and indeed Morgan Carriage horses were one bred here on this beautiful estate. Those looking for some nightlife can easily travel into Newcastle or Ponteland for meals and drinks. Nearby Belsay and Whalton have lovely village pubs serving excellent food. A beautiful country park is nearby at Bolam Lake with lovely walks and grassed areas. Nearby coarse fishing permits can be obtained at Higham Lakes Fishery. The market town of Morpeth is a few miles with plenty of shops, pubs and cafés. The Heritage Coast is easily reached for day trips with miles of golden sandy beaches and historic castles.
