This romantic ‘clock tower’ is the ideal retreat for two. Abound with character and enjoying views over the countryside.

Most unusual building

The Clock Tower was built around 1740, and is part of a Grade ll listed building. Whilst small, it is full of character - with old beams, sloping ceilings and an exposed void leading up to where the bell once hung. At the end of a private drive in the grounds of Snettisham House, there are open views to the rear and over the gardens to the front. Snettisham House is above the village about 3 miles from the sea. There are walks from the holiday cottage, and the nearby RSPB reserve is famous for its wading birds. The nearby Snettisham Park (open to visitors) has rare breeds and farms red deer. Snettisham has good pubs/hotels and a good bistro, store, post office, butchers and greengrocers. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.

Ground floor: 1 double bedroom with access from one side only. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Living/dining room/kitchen all with beams.

NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Patio and furniture. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

An excellent little hideaway - would certainly recommend!

Very lovely, homely place and we would definitely stay there again. It was quiet, beautiful, warm and cosy. Although it was made clear there was no WiFi it would be a welcome addition, in our opinion, as we had a poor phone signal, so making arrangements with our friends staying locally was quite difficult. However, if you’re looking for a break away from it all, it is perfect for walks and has a great local pub, The Rose & Crown, about 30 minutes walk away. A very good getaway!

Lovely place but we only stayed one night as the temperature in there was ridiculous even with 2 fans on 😩

We enjoyed our stay at the Clocktower, especially the Wentworth puzzles. Nice walk to the local pub. An informative welcome pack told us all we needed to know.

Could do with a new fridge very out dated full of ice very noisy .the kitchen needed a good clean is inside cupboards all coated in a sticky greasy fluff. Bedroom very dark .bed pushed against wall no room at the bed foot ,so had to climb over my husband to go to toilet .not a lot of cupboard space to put your own food in .no garden only front drive to sit in

It was a lovely cottage, very homely. Had everything we needed and more. Couldn’t fault any aspect. Area is great, we just went at a quiet time of year. Owners left all information that was needed. Would love to return to the clock tower.
