Gorgeous conversion of 17th-century stone farmhouse with beautiful views, perfectly placed for visiting the Western Lakes and National Park Coast.

This beautiful stone farmhouse looking onto an original stone dove tower with the Whicham Valley and Black Combe Fell beyond, was once owned by John Myers, cousin of William Wordsworth. The house has been restored keeping its character with original oak beams, exposed stone walls and original Lakeland slate floors.
Fell View Cottage is arranged with a large living/dining room on the ground floor with a wood burner. There is a separate kitchen and wet room-style bathroom with shower/toilet on the ground floor. The upper floor has been organised on an ‘open-plan’ basis, reflecting the historical layout of the house while maximising the fell and valley views and preserving the visibility of the original beams and sense of space. Given the upper floor arrangement, Fell View Cottage can be occupied as a generous space for two guests with the additional sleeping area used for lounging (it has wonderful views of the valley and fells). When occupied by four guests, the sleeping areas can be used as a ‘family room’ comfortably sleeping four, but will share access from the ground floor. The upstairs sleeping area boasts a large en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath and toilet.
A paradise for lovers of wildlife and birds, the cottage is located amongst 5-acres of garden and woodland, and surrounded by fields in the Lake District National Park. There are wonderful walks from the door, and just 1¾ mile away is the Irish Sea and a beautiful, dog-friendly beach at Silecroft. The Whicham Valley is remote, unspoilt and an idyllic corner of the Lake District, ideal for walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those enjoying the peace and beauty of the countryside. The Duddon Valley, Southern Lakes and fells are easily reached with Scafell Pike, Ennerdale Water, Wastwater and Coniston Water all within half an hour’s drive. Visit Muncaster Castle, La’al Ratty Miniature Steam Railway or the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. Golf, fishing and horse riding are available nearby including Cumbria Heavy Horses and beach rides at Silecroft. Fell View can be booked together with The Chapel (26506) to accommodate up to 7 guests. Beach 1¾ mile. Shop 4 miles, pub 1 mile and restaurant 1½ miles

    Excellent cottage. Secluded which we liked. Very welcoming host and helpful. Lots of walks around and only 5 minutes from lovely beach by car. Would recommend to anyone

    Absolutely loved our stay at Fell View. Very peaceful and away from it all - just what we needed! Accommodation was beautiful, but a little quirky with the bedroom arrangement. Soaking in the bath was the best after a busy day, out and about. Cannot waif to stay here again.

    What a stunning property, done to a high standard. Owner was welcoming and accommodating. So peaceful and a great place to explore the west and south lakes.
