We stayed here recently and loved the location. Was great being out in the countryside having no traffic nearby and the sounds of the farm where pleasant to here especially the birds in the morning. The house was as described inside however not tonour standard of cleanliness as there were many cobwebs around the drawers dresser and table in the living room area. The kitchen was well equipped but could do with a bigger freezer for the size of the occupants than can stay there. The garden was lovely and spacious however shared with the owners of the cottage and their dogs. The garden is not private and open plan as such therefore the owners 5 dogs have access to it and left some in pleasant presents for us. This prevented us from letting the children out in the garden without us present. We ended up getting some doggy bags from the local supermarket to pick up the mess to allow the children to use the garden safely. It is worth noting that the owners dogs have the run of the area as expected of farm animals however not stated in the description for The Chapel. There were afew occasions where one of the dogs was protective of their land and nipped at one of the children. Another occasion was when going to the owners door to notify them of a broken down appliance (dishwasher out of action for 48hours until fixed) one of the dogs approached barking and infact bit me. It wasn’t until an hour later we had realised that the bite had broken the skin. The owner was notified via voicemail of the incident but did not make any reference to it when speaking to members of our party after. We are a dog friendly family (large breed dogs) however these incidents with the springer spaniels and having to cleaning up their mess in the garden really let our holiday experience down. I would not recommend this properly to another as I do not feel health and safely has been looked at responsibly. I would hate to know that other persons have attended and have had an experience like ours with the dogs especially if they have children. It was a nice cottage in a lovely area however I would definitely not choose to take my holiday here again.
