Bin was full of mould and Christine the Caretaker never answered her phone so had to buy bedding for 3rd bed! Bungalow and garden lovely. Lawn only mown mid week. Contaminated weed in garden. Otherwise all good!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for your feedback, however I am very concerned regarding these comments. Regarding the bin, I have spoken to Christine and she totally refutes the comment. She always cleans the bins and takes pride in her work. The property is cleaned every week to a high standard. You have to bear in mind that the property is close to the sea. My own mobile does not work there and the signals on other networks are hit and miss. Therefore Christine perhaps never received your call. She always responds to messages for this reason. The booking was only made for one person. I understand that there were at least 6 people in the property for the week. This is unacceptable as it voids my public liability insurance and more importantly your holiday insurance should anything untoward occur, especially if a fire or flood occurs, the rescue services would be looking for one person. We only take four people. The mowing of the lawn occurs once a week to keep it all in order and tidy. The gardener does attend regularly but he does not want to disturb your holiday. There is a small area of Japanese Knotweed. It is clearly marked and fenced off. This has been an ongoing problem for the past three years and is very expensive to remove. It has to be undertaken by authorised contractors. It is now almost eradicated.

A lovely bungelow with everything you need. Literally 3 mins from the beach. In a quiet cul de sac with minimal noise. Sitting in the conservtory is lovely and the heating is good. You do need to put the water on for an hour before a bath though we found out. Only one critismn which isant the owners fault we darnt let the dogs off lead in the garden as we didnt know what the knot weed had been treated with. But this wasnt a problem, maybe just saying if its safe for dogs to sniff near. But to be fair it did state on the ad there was knotweed so the owner had been genuine and it wasnt a problem for us. The beds were nice and comfy I must add even the singles. All in all I dont think you would find a better property in that location. 20 mins and your at the broads. If you want to go further an hour or so and your in Suffolk. It was clean, comfy, cosy, great base for exploring, warm, tv all worked and wifi, shower was good. We will return our dogs are miserable since we got home they loved it too so we have to come back.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. WiFi was installed on the 28th November 2018 and is fully functional. Passwords are located on the hub and on the fridge door. All clearly visible. We are sorry you missed them.

Our second visit to The Cedars, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The bungalow is very comfortable, spacious and clean. The enclosed garden is ideal for our dogs. The sea front is only a short walk away and Walcott has the basic amenities, which is fine. Our only niggle is that there is no wi-fi connection, which we missed. However, we are looking forward to returning in the future.

A spacious, well equipped, comfortable bungalow with a good sized, enclosed garden in a very quiet cul-de-sac. As for Walcott itself, not a very exciting place and certainly not the best beach in Norfolk.

Cottage let down by cleanliness. Carpets dirty and stained, cobwebs everywhere, coffee tables filthy and shower in wet room grimy and rusty. It needs lots of tlc, then it could be a lovely bungalow. Nearby Happisburgh beach is lovely as is the beach at Sea Palling. Lighthouse Inn is highly recommended - lovely meal and friendly staff. Cromer and Sheringham well worth a visit. The Kitchen in Sheringham again highly recommended for a light lunch or afternoon tea.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your response. I am sorry if you feel the property was not up to standard during your stay. We always clean the property to a high standard, but as you can imagine, over the course of the year there can be issues which we cannot address during the turn around time between lets. Since your visit, we have stayed at the property for a week, and done mid season maintenance and a thorough clean (including the carpets) to rectify any of the issues that you raised, and as always, if anyone has any problems whilst at the cottage, just contact the caretaker, and we will aim to get these rectified as soon as possible.
