Cottage let down by cleanliness. Carpets dirty and stained, cobwebs everywhere, coffee tables filthy and shower in wet room grimy and rusty. It needs lots of tlc, then it could be a lovely bungalow. Nearby Happisburgh beach is lovely as is the beach at Sea Palling. Lighthouse Inn is highly recommended - lovely meal and friendly staff. Cromer and Sheringham well worth a visit. The Kitchen in Sheringham again highly recommended for a light lunch or afternoon tea.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your response. I am sorry if you feel the property was not up to standard during your stay. We always clean the property to a high standard, but as you can imagine, over the course of the year there can be issues which we cannot address during the turn around time between lets. Since your visit, we have stayed at the property for a week, and done mid season maintenance and a thorough clean (including the carpets) to rectify any of the issues that you raised, and as always, if anyone has any problems whilst at the cottage, just contact the caretaker, and we will aim to get these rectified as soon as possible.

We had a lovely week at 1 The Cedars, starting with a warm welcome from Christine. The kettle was on, milk was in the fridge, and water was down for our dog. The bungalow is comfortable and clean, and well equipped. The furniture is modern and stylish and there is a spacious conservatory, leading into an enclosed back garden, which is well set out with table and chairs and a good length of washing line. The location of the bungalow is ideal. It is quiet, but only about 200 yards from the sea. The neighbours are friendly and helpful too. We will definitely be back next year.

A Lovely bungalow and setting as so easy to get to sea front and other places nearby. Local places to eat include The Lighthouse Inn which is excellent. The only thing that spoilt our stay was that the property needs a good "spring clean". The mats in bath/wet room were dirty and the bins need replacing. A lot of thick dust on furniture. Plus the bedding in the main bedroom smelt very musty as if it hadn't been aired properly. The towels need replacing and there was no towel or tea towel in the kitchen. The kitchen cupboards need a good clean out. Shame about the cleanliness of the property. If we stay there again hopefully the property would have had a good clean.

Back garden overgrown & Japanese knotweed not properly contained so dogs can easily access & it can be spread. Nice bungalow but needs thorough clean.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at The Cedars. We have recently employed a new gardener and the overlap during the changeover means the garden was unfortunately unattended for a short period, but the garden is now back to its best and blooming beautiful. The Japanese knotweed has been dealt with, and there has always been a fence in place to prevent dogs going near it however, we will ask the new gardener to have a look at it. Our cleaner does work very hard and cleans the property thoroughly prior to each guests stay. Many previous reviews have been very complementary, reflecting the high standard of cleanliness and recognising our cleaner’s hard work.
